Yeah, what killjoys! I mean, is there anything more fun than killing babies for medical research! What’s wrong with the Church!! Don’t they know “fun” is justification enough for murder??? Come 'on, already!

There are currently over 300,000 embryo’s created for, but not used in ‘in vitro’ fertility treatments that are basically slated for the trash-can, as well as established stem-cell lines that are sustainable without any further embyonic involvement.

Even the most pessimistic evaluations of the potential benefit to mankind as a whole make the discovery of penicillin or the cure for polio insignificant by comparison.

In essence, the Church is, in typical fashion, supporting continued human suffering over scientific advancement… But, with a 1700 year long track record of causing far more suffering than any other human institution on record, I figure the only reason Jesus has not returned already is that he is shell shocked that we actually think that THIS is the correct interpretation of of his Words and Life.

A morally acceptable way to do ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ by Archbishop Gregory Aymond

We’ve received a lot of questions about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Many people don’t realize that some of the research done by the association for whom the money is being raised uses embryonic stem cells, which is against our pro-life stance. Research using embryonic stem cells is never morally acceptable. Research using adult stem cells – which are derived from the skin and organs – is acceptable. It is possible for people to contribute to research that is morally acceptable. The Steve Gleason Fund – which was begun by former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason to fund ALS research – involves research that does not use embryonic stem cells. People can specify in their donation to the Steve Gleason Fund how their donation should be used.
