St. Rose of Lima would rub hot peppers on her face in order to disfigure it because men were looking at her beauty. Sometimes beauty is not the best, for it can lead to vanity.

Beauty is useful, however, in a marriage. It helps to keep attraction between the two spouses.

Catholic woman are required to be beautiful on the INSIDE.

I’m not sure why the person takes posts all these pics on instagram… but I doubt anyone considers her to be the ideal Catholic female.

That title already belongs to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Catholic women are to be beautiful in spirit first and foremost.

@Rozellelily

Look at Mother Mary and the Saints and not a worldly women, a bad example to immitate,Hebrews 12:2 looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Peter 3:2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; 4 rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.

No I need my heavy winter boots. Hockey and beer I like. My husband tginks I am feminine. I thought God did too but if those are on the list of masculine things I guess I could be wrong!

As long as you are drinking Lite beer, your fine. Labatte’s and Moosehead both produce Lite versions.

That’s just wrong.

But from what I have read, she was quite young when she did this, so she may have had some confused ideas.

Oh no I like porter!
Bummer. You’re probably too butch for Heaven. Bad news is that hockey is not a popular sport in the other place, for some odd reason. Good news is that you won’t need your snow boots anymore!

(Out of likes. Sorry!) 😀

I’ve only skimmed this thread because I really need to get some housework done, but the question of beauty was on my mind a lot the past few days.

I saw a news report that young people are creating posts asking people on the internet “Am I pretty?” “Am I good looking?” “Am I beautiful?”

I think what people really want to know is "Am I lovable?"

I don’t think people care about being beautiful except in how it equates (in their minds) to being loved.

When you come to know yourself as loved and lovable, you will no longer be asking whether or not you are beautiful or need to be so. ♥️

As long as you don’t drink stouts! Now that’s a man’s beer… and it is gravely sinful for a woman to even see a stout… such strong beers are only brought out when the womenfolk have retired with the children.

😂 😂 😂

I don’t particularly like drinking stout, but I can make a pretty mean beef stew with stout in it … hmmm, dinner tomorrow 🙂

I love this bit of wisdom from Amelia Pond, from Doctor Who:

“You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful and then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they’re as dull as a brick? Then there’s other people, when you meet them you think, ‘Not bad. They’re okay.’ And then you get to know them and… and their face just sort of becomes them. Like their personality’s written all over it. And they just turn into something so beautiful.”
