Are Catholics saved?

Hi All
There is a thread in the Apologetics section asking Catholics if Protestants can be saved even though they do not belong to the Catholic Church.

My question is for Protestants only (I hope that Catholics will refrain from posting and just sit back and see what Protestants have to say to this question).

Do you as Protestants believe that Catholics will be saved?

I’m Catholic and since the OP is now banned, I’m going to answer this stupid question in the simplest way possible. Individually, we hope so… Just as Paul knew it was possible to lose one’s salvation, so to do Catholics know and understand this Truth.
 
Another jumps on the “Banned wagon”. 😦 So much for “Christian” charity. Speaking of a great, fire-breathing homily from EWTN yesterday, regarding 1 John 3:22 – 4:6

It is the spirit of antichrist which:
  1. Rejects the church Christ founded
  2. Rejects the authority of that church
  3. Rejects even Christ Himself in the Eucharist
In all charity, we must again stress that it is the spirit of antichrist which leads to separation, division, detraction of Christ’s church, to disbelief in the Body and Blood of Christ Himself. Not to imply that these posters are evil, satanic or anything of the sort. Simply, they have been deceived and lead astray by the spirit of antichrist. I pray for them daily, that the Holy Spirit leads them back to faithfulness.

Even though the OP has been banned, the question still stands.

Yes, I believe that Catholics can be saved – within the Catholic Church. And yes, I am a Protestant.
 
Also, the thread the OP’er was referring to was started by a non-Catholic Christian who wanted to debate OSAS.
 
I believe that more Catholics will be saved then the Catholics themselves think will be. 😉

I was going to download that homily. I saw it yesterday and that’s the first thing I thought of, downloading that homily. I almost forgot.

Sorry, I’m Catholic but I will answer this anyway since Tietjen answered this. Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon 😊
I would like to hope that I will be saved when that time comes. I believe, I have been baptized, I go to confession and I receive Jesus in Holy Communion. I believe that with faith, hope & charity, and Trusting in the Mercy of Jesus Christ that I hope to be saved.

Well I just checked 1 Cor. 6:9 again (the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God) and Catholic is not in this list. So until I find a similar Scripture that mentions Catholic, of course.

In fact, I don’t think you lose it by skipping mass for skiing or not doing the 1 hour fast before mass.

If you want only protestants to answer your questions then why don’t you visit a protestant website? As long as we’re alive we are saved “in spe” - in hope. Catholics will be saved while protestants do a lot not to be saved.
One more thing - what are yo trying to prove you arogant?

I usually save it for last after having gone through the motions with them.

Can’t get no more scriptural than that!
