Are guitars, rock bands, lifeteen, dancing, etc. all allowed?

You said this took place at a conference, not at a service. The Catholic Mass is the re-presentation of the sacrifice at Calvary. The “appropriate time and place” rule applies here. I would agree with you that seeing the youth enjoying good Christian music and a positive message and dancing and all that is great. I would love for my kids to want to attend an event like that. That type of event is simply not the Catholic Mass. It belongs to another place and time. The church hall on a Friday or Saturday night after Mass sounds right to me.

I agree. I went to this thing my cousin took me too with his youth group, which they did after Holy Mass. They had a rock band and they played Christian songs. They really got into it. I thought it was great that they enjoyed it so much. It was completely appropriate.

However, it wasn’t appropriate at the mass which was celebrated right before. Also, they played the songs to their own “Youth Eucharistic Adoration” which I was a little uncomfortable with. I think Padre Pio said reverence and silence was best when the Eucharist is around. However, other than that, I thought it was great and certainly nothing is wrong with it. Just NOT AT MASS.
