This is the misconception of wording, a cult is not the occult, yet often they can be working in tangent of each other.

Also, you are wrong on the matter that we don’t think that the power of God will save us, just the opposite.
You mean you believe that you are save by an occult power of God. You mean that you are saved and have no experience.

Getting back to the topic and thanks for the posts everyone.

Chapter 17 says Jesus took a short little side trip into the region of Samaria and Galilee. Predominantly He’s going through all the villages & towns as ststed in verse 22 into the area known as Judea the southern kingdom on the way to Jerusalem.

In a few short months from now until he reaches Jerusalem and His death and resurrection. Look at verse 22 as He goes passing through one city by city and village by village, always teaching, teaching, teaching. That is His ministry and was to give the good news about his gift of eternal life. That’s what ministry is, because it’s about disseminating truth. His ministy was not about an experience, about inducing a feeling. It is about understanding His truth or believing Him. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Why? It prepares us in faith to hear and accept the message of salvation; one reason why people do not find it; many are looking to religion to define and interpret the truth as opposed the person of the Trinity who gives, leads, teaches, posesses and guides the truth.

One begins fearing God, that is having a right and heart relationship to God. When you have wisdom, that is when you understand truth, when you understand truth, then you are being prepared to embrace the truth. Jesus was a truth teacher. That is the driving force characteristic of His ministry. It’s about the truth. That’s why it is vital to understand truth and about obtaining the truth right and interpreting Scripture correctly and understanding that the meaning of the Scripture is the Scripture (i.e John 1:1). If one does not have the meaning right, you don’t have the Scripture.

You mean you believe that you are save by an occult power of God. You mean that you are saved and have no experience.
ROFL, anything, anything at all that brings me directly into Gods direct embrace is good. lol

Children, what can you say here, lol. Any thing you can do, to be in his good graces do ite, what so ever simply impells you,. that much more regardless of how strange it is to you, it kind of grows on you with little effort at all if that’s the case.

I’m still waiting for you to post something with Scott that has some substance to debate over against him, otherwise, will say you wish to retract your original statement and we all here forgive and forget… What do you think?

Does anyone think they may be part of the many or part of the few and why?

Well, I have no grudge against Scott, but I believe that his typological interpretation of scripture is occultism. His mind is always swimming with these ideas, and I hope it does not lead to psychological depression.

I’m actually reading one of his books, Rome Sweet Home, it is his and his wife’s story about their conversion and it begins with him not only going through scripture with zealously, shows his extensive formal studies on theology. His original basis is from a purely Sola Scripture approach and some of his biggest discoveries so far, where I’m at in the book is where Paul never teaches Sola Scripture, Where even even Luther was firmly against birth control, and where Faith “and” works are necessary, not faith alone. His claims within these are all derrived within scripture itself, and how he sees a pattern within it, where God and man always enter a covenant together. I think if you read this particular book, it will give you the best starting point to go off of when it comes down to understanding the other books he read, since it starts from the very beginning.

Having an opinion is fine, but please, make sure you back it up facts, otherwise you will never learn.

The Father delivers to the Son who He wills. Just because you are a Christian does not make you a part of the elect. I don’t believe in the “few”, I believe in the elect and accept that just because you say that you are a Christian, you may end up as the person in this verse:

22"(A)Many will say to Me on (B)that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23"And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; (C)DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
or

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I added both NASB and KJV because I figure many people here are KJV Onlyists.

Does anyone think they may be part of the many or part of the few and why?
Right now, at this moment, I consider myself part of the few, and why, because there is a definite change, this being inside, and not from a worldly perspective or understanding at all. The thing is, clearly, I do not embrace the ways of the world, the more this develops, the more vile the world is to my very core nature, this new creation is not the same as the old. What I can also tell you is where when you read the gospel, and really see it with new eyes, that you just know, you are on the right path. Things taught within it, instead of trying to conform to it, it just comes naturally, and it’s like this threshold one reaches that is clearly defined.

The bottom line, you have to be brutally honest with yourself and test your motives, do them come from within, or without, do you have Christ living inside of you, or is he just on the outside? You have to lay down your life to be able to pick it up again, if you do not, you are still part of the worlds creation and have not let it go, you will always embrace it because that is your nature by default. Your default nature changes when you are being truly saved.

This is as best as I can describe it for now, will elaborate if need be.

Well if the Sedevacantist Catholics are right and the Fatima message is correct, then very few will make it to heaven.

Does anyone think they may be part of the many or part of the few and why?
The fact is that anyone can be a part of the few and the way how is readily explained in scripture.

Matt13: 23Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Matt.20:22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The obvious question we need to ask after reading these verses is do we know the Lord or are we known of Him.

!Jn.2:3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1Jn3:24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1Jn4:7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1Jn5:2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

We can know that we are the few if we love God and keep His commandments and love each other.

If a person is truly Christian, they are the elect. There are no elect that are not Chirstian. You can pick and chose what you want to believe, but it does not change what God has said and what He says He has done or will do.

How did you deal with your sin issue? Is the Bible 100% the very voice of God in which He reveals His character and attributes?

Well if the Sedevacantist Catholics are right and the Fatima message is correct, then very few will make it to heaven.
What is more important in your view, what the Bible says, what the message of Fatima says, what your church says?

Isn’t this basically what the one’s the Lord rejected are claiming/saying? I mean Lord Lord, that shows some reverance. We did this and we did that for you. So what is the difference?

Ya, ya, that’s just it they are claiming/ saying and apparrenty getting some results. However their hearts are not right and as a result the God that knows the intimate recesses of the heart rejects them. It’s the same with the ten virgins, which by the way are symbolic of churches. The wise take enough oil (symbolic of the Holy Spirit). The foolish neglect the Spirit of God and are locked out of the marraige feast. A phenomenon that can be readily seen in the world today. Many churches are foresaking the word of God and producing their own brand of feel good religion that has little to do with the movement of the Spirit.

You stated correctly; it is a matter of the heart, which God and the inner man know. As you also rightly stated and few people look at things in this way; does God know you? Yes, this is the key and what separates the few and the many…amen brother.

I’ve lost faith in all of the above. The two examples I gave were just examples of a bleak future for the majority of souls who enter Eternity.

The salvation that Jesus spoke of was refering to a soon coming Apocalypse that never happened in the generation it was meant for.

Vimy,

I’m sorry to here you take such a bleak outlook. You can’t lose faith in the Bible, which is the very voice of God, because you cannot lose that which you never had to begin with. The “day of the Lord” is coming and Jesus is not slow but patient; but there is coming a time when God will not strive with men and there will be a lot of death and destruction of the wicked, which by nature is all of us.

The only difference between you and I is that I have complete faith in Jesus and I look forward to the end of this life, no matter what life throws at me.

Jesus is the DOOR, that means He is the only way.

How many other faiths were there and have been outside of Judeo-Christianity before, at the time of Jesus until now? So its a simple truth unless you were a Jew before His coming, a righteous pagan who never had the message of the Jewish People then Christ or Christian your not right with God. Allowing for God being merciful and allowing for pagans to live just lives in accord with their understanding of God.

I teach a simple message that the Catholic Church did get the essence of and the Protestants had right but went into a corrupt state. We are all clergy and saints so don’t need any church authority but rather the Spiritual Church the universal faith led by the Holy Spirit as the teacher, Jesus as the mercy of God who can temper His Father and the Father God who is stern but can soften His anger. Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit any two or more saints (believers) can absolve sins, grant indulgences and these can be perpetual as long as you don’t sin against the Holy Ghost and even send ministry to souls in Hell that are not fallen angels. Jesus made the way oddly easy you all are missing this adding layers of dogma to what is so easy and simple. God has shown me these things in dreams and in the force and authority of the Holy Spirit sent by Jesus. A far higher authority than any Earthly one even a Pope or Pastor General or council of men.

So the path is narrow and one door but your the ones that fail to grasp the truth, not just the Catholics but all the denominations corrupting themselves for money and power, for pride and comforts and for things of this Earth not the things of God.

You seem to imply that Jesus is softer than the Father; they share identical attributes of character; they are both just and merciful without measure. You seem to condemn those you do not know; are you God?

How did you come to know Jesus; what is your story?
