The statement was “Christianity does not depend on force, but on voluntary acceptance.”
I was submitting the question as to whether or not the following activities indicate voluntary acceptance of Christianity with no force involved:
The Crusades
The Inquisition
The burning of heretics at the stake?
I have to agree with MelanieAnne here. But? from your questions you appear to be misinformed of the Truth of history. The Christianity that the Catholic Church practices and preaches is a doctrine of “Love” of God and neighbor. It would do you justice to review history and see for yourself who is exercising a Kings or prince’s Law of the land and not God’s law.
You have introduced the word “force” of religion here? Are you familiar with Islam law’s? of course you know that they have a law of capital punishment not to mention via stoning? The Jews also practiced this law of stoning. Catholicism is the only faith that exercises the capital punishment of “excommunication” by her divine right in the binding and loosing given to her by Jesus himself. Reread your history and check who it is that is really exercising the capital punishment. You will be surprised to learn that the secular authorities via King and or prince who was riding of it’s enemies for self gain at the expense of the reputation of God’s Holy Church.
If you care to really get specific? name a time and place and I will reveal the devil to you. Yet know this; that God’s Word holds true even at the test of time amen.
Peace be with you.
