I think he is pointing to the fact that we are not like the Baptist fundamentalists. I would take that sort of observation as a compliment!

You are forgetting something. Muslims do not worship the same God as Catholics. Catholics believe God consists of the Blessed Trinity. From the Baltimore catechism:

21. Q. Is there but one God?
_A. Yes; there is but one God. _

23. Q. How many Persons are there in God?
A. In God there are three Divine Persons, really distinct, and equal in all things-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

27. Q. What is the Blessed Trinity?
A. The Blessed Trinity is one God in three Divine Persons.

29. Q. Are the three Divine Persons one and the same God?
A. The three Divine Persons are one and the same God, having one and the same Divine nature.

Muslims do not believe in the Blessed Trinity.

No, it’s not relevant. You will just mock my denomination if I were to tell you.
I see. Its okay for you to mock us but you don’t want the same thing dished out to you!! Pretty cowardly!

Yes, the Church teaches that the invincibly ignorant can be saved under certain conditions, one of them being that they die with perfect contrition for their sins. Though this would be an exception to the rule and only God knows where it applies. The RULE is that we be members of the true religion, Catholicism, if we are to be saved.

An analogy: The true religion is like a parachute. It is designed to save. Yet, there are people who have fallen without a parachute and lived. But nobody would EVER recommend jumping out of a plane without one. Simply put, a parachute is necessary. Christ founded a Church and it is necessary for salvation. He is God, and that is God’s will. He wishes to be worshiped with proper worship and guided in all truth by a Church that He guides. That is where the graces of salvation are. Those saved outside are considered in the" soul of the Church", and would be unknown exceptions. The merits of salvation would have come directly from God obtained by the merits of the Church, and not attributed to the false religions they unfortunately were a part of.

4000 different world religions?? If we look at the Atlas of faith in the Encyclopedia Britannica, there are only 4 categories of major religions:

Christian 33%
Islam 19.8%
Hindu 13.3%
Buddhists 5.9%

The rest are either miscellaneous indigenous beliefs, or agnostic/atheist. Judaism is too small to be included as a major category. So there are 4 major categories, with those considering themselves Christian covering a far greater percentage than the other 3. The other 3 are condemned by our Lord Himself in the quotes in the OP. That leaves Christianity as the only viable option. As for which is true among Christians is a completely different discussion.
I wasn’t discussing religious categories. Your right it is a different discussion but thats precisely why you can’t lump all of Christianity together and call it one religion. If you can do that then why be Catholic? If it’s all one big religion then great no need for any other Christians to become Catholic. I’m sorry but no your comment just isn’t true.

Hinduism and Buddhism are both older than Christianity, but how Jesus could have condemned Islam specifically in SS 700 years in advance sounds pretty funny.

Note that I said “categories” of religions. See the diagram.
There are still more than four categories of religion.

Judaism (how you left that off I have no idea), Shinto, Sikhs, indigenous religions…there are more than four.

Just because you claim they’re not “major” doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

And I did look at the diagram. You summarily dismissed most of it.

I haven’t forgotten anything.

I’ve lived in Saudi Arabia. I’m well aware of what Islam is and isn’t.

You didn’t read the CCC, did you? The current catechism? The one also on the site for the Vatican?

What traditions might those be, drac?
Oddly enough, he doesn’t seem to have an answer.
Yes, very odd.🤔

I don’t know where you pulled that out of, but the Church has never, ever, in its whole history, taught anything else than that Muslims, Christians and Jews all worship the same God.

Don’t make stuff up and try to pass it off as Catholic teaching.

They may hold a grain of truth, but not the whole truth as found in the Catholic Church

I know because it is a revealed truth- “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

Therefore those who die without faith are not pleasing to him. This is not a judgment of individuals, but of a condition individuals can fall into. Christ can give faith at the point of death, but none will be saved without it. Read St. Thomas Aquinas.

Some of the necessary means of salvation can be set aside, such as the necessity of baptism. But there are other necessary means of salvation which CAN NOT have an exception EVER.

These are-
  1. Explicit admission of a God.
  2. Explicit admission that he rewards good and punishes evil.
  3. Explicit admission of the Trinity.
  4. Explicit admission of Christ’s coming in the flesh.
Without these elements none go to heaven.

Islam is a Christian heresy, according to St. John of Damascus and admits that Christ was a man who did not even die.

Is that the Jesus you worship?

Is Jesus God?

The end.

You can dance around all you want, but if you say that Muslims, Christians and Jews do not all worship the same God, you are rejecting the clear teaching of the Church in this matter, and are yourself guilty of heresy. And blasphemy.
