Are Protestants Saved?

A Catholic admits what Protestants have stated all along, interesting no.
Interesting? No.

“Worship” is broad enough to include veneration.

Many Protestants include all prayer in “worship” (hence the objection to praying to saints), so it shouldn’t be incredible that Catholics have a broad enough definition of “worship” to include veneration of saints.

However, all orthodox Catholics are very familiar with the First Commandment, and with the concept that adoration and worship in its strictest sense belongs to God alone.

Than proper words should be used, Worship is for God only not Mary. Words should always be chosen carefully

Any Protestants want a cold beer with me? Let’s engage in some ecumenism. 😉

If *you *bring it, you will be saved.

A Catholic says worship in one way. A Protestant hears it in another. Interesting, no?
Worship

  1. *]reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power ; also : an act of expressing such reverence
*]a form of religious practice with its creed and ritual

    GOD:
6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
    Deuteronomy 5:6-10

According to Catholic teaching, are Protestants saved (being saved, are to be saved, etc.)?
Objectively, no Protestants arent saved. They are objectively outside the Church. Salvation is only found in the Church. However, if the Protestant was ignorant of the faith(and the ignorance was not his fault) and he had the virtue of faith (meaning if he knew the truth he would believe it) and had no other mortal sins on his soul then he could be saved. However, Protestanism is ultimately a false form of Christianity. We should seek to convert Protestants for the sake of their salvation and ours.

Just needed to repost this… I gladly miss out…
Jesus, the Author of the Commandment to honor thy father and thy mother, was a far better child to His mother than you could ever be to yours. How do you figure you can honor Him by dishonoring the creature He loves above all others?

We honor Mary because God honored her first. “Hail Mary, full of grace”: who else in Scripture was so addressed by God?

At the Annunciation, she consented to be the gate through which the Incarnate God would enter the world, taking His flesh from her.

At the Presentation in the Temple, she offered her Son up to the horrific death of the cross. Whereas other mothers knew they were just going through a legal ritual, she knew she was really sacrificing the one Person she loved above all others, for the salvation of souls.

From the moment of Simeon’s prophecy, the Cross of the future cast its shadow over her whole life until finally, she stood at its foot and shared her Son’s sufferings. Whereas God mercifully withholds the future from us, she had to suffer the Passion, not only in its reality, but also in its anticipation. So united was she to the will of God, by which her Son died on the cross, that she never made the slightest protest against it, even though her own suffering was unimaginably cruel.

She suffered all of this because she wanted what God wants: the salvation of souls.

Why do you hate her?

Wasn’t it one of the apparitions of Our Lady who said that Protestants are in Purgatory the longest because they have nobody praying for them? This concludes that they will be saved.

I didn’t see that in there, but, admittingly, I skimed it.
I am afraid I am not aware of any of the approved apparitions of the BVM saying any such thing can you be more specific?

Anyway I did not say it could not happen just that I seriously doubt it and it would be exceedingly rare, Catholics struggle greatly even with the sacraments what hope then is there for those who do not have them and do not obey God.

I’m looking. In the meantime: spiritdaily.org/purgatoryexists.htm <— Website where Protestants alledgedly admit Purgatory. In this website, it is admited that Protestants DO go to Purgatory and that they are there the longest BECAUSE nobody prays for them.

Also, for any who may be interested:

It just seems like the definition of before was lacking. I want all who read to walk away with fuller knowledge.

Must we go through the Latria, Hyper-dulia, Dulia clarifications EVERY time?
Not if the right word is used, Worship is very specific and from your own documents is due to God only. The word used in the post was Worship, not anything else.

To be honest, I believe that Catholicisim is the one true religion and Protestants ( I even hate that term as if it was a threat to another religion) miss out on the worship of the Blessed Virgin.
Catholics do not worship Mary. She is venerated. Back in the old days, it worship have a different set of meaning, particularly in England. Since then, when we use the turn worship in this modern age, worship means to worship God alone. For the sake of argument, Catholics venerate Mary not worship her.

I do not hate Mary. I simply will not worship her… Ever.
Catholics never worship Mary period. It was never taught by the Catholic Church. Catholics have do, need to read their Catechism, and what does Mary have to do with the topic, Are Protestant saved?"

those within the law will be judged within the law. those outside the law will be judged outside the law.

read about Jesus and the rich man. that will help in this situation.

Some probably have been,👍 some probably will be:thumbsup:👍 and some probably won’t be:eek:. In fact, I will make a wild stab and say that a lot won’t, but that is just my own personal belief. sad to say that but I do believe it to be a fact.

It is a very individual and personal type of thing.

Hi again–

I used the CCC to answer this question and encountered a lot of confusing posts about why the CCC is not infallible, etc… I Asked an Apologist if the CCC was an accurate portrayal of the current teachings of the Catholic Church. His answer:

**Hi,

The very reason that the Catechism of the Catholic Church exists is so that it can help people know exactly what the Church teaches in our current practical situations. The Catechism is it!

Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P. **

And as I stated in an earlier post, the CCC does indicate that Protestants can be saved outside the Catholic Church. So I would think that would end the debate, since when the CCC was commissioned and written, the Church was fully aware of the Council of Trent and other Papal Bulls when it approved the current CCC.

Therefore, to disagree with the possibility of the salvation of Protestants, one must be in disagreement with the Church. And that is all I really needed to know.
