Pretty much, yes.Are you saying a person is a Christian because they say they are and because they say they follow Jesus?
The word ‘Christian’ is a classification of belief, not a judgment of salvation.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses are Christians. Not the same type of “Christian” as Catholics or Methodists or Episcopalians…but they are Christians. They seek to follow Jesus of Nazareth…they may be mistaken on many issues…but Christians none the less.Do the JW say they are Christian.
Man does not have a soul
the Trinity is a fabrication of the RCC.
Jesus is a god
Jesus is a Archangel MICHAEL Jesus was not raised from rthe dead
Man does not have a soul
and we have No hell.
I think with all of this They are not Christians,do you think of them as Christian and the name Roman Cathloic Church did not come along until 1051,I think thats the right date.may 1054
If you listen to the JW they will say they are Not Christian they call them self a orgainzationThe Jehovah’s Witnesses are Christians. The JW"s I have spoken to at my door confess to be “Christians”…just not part of “Christendom” which they consider part of the present world order. If you listen to the JW they will say they are Not Christian they call them self a orgainzation
Looks like they are so confused they do not know what they areThe JW"s I have spoken to at my door confess to be “Christians”…just not part of “Christendom” which they consider part of the present world order.
According to their official website, they claim to be Christian. So I imagine that if you 'listen to the JW" they will say that yeah, they are Christians. If you listen to the JW they will say they are Not Christian they call them self a orgainzation
Ok, the JW’s at the door say they are Christian. Their website says they are Christian. How does this make them confused about the matter?Looks like they are so confused they do not know what they are
Have any JW’s converted to RCC … and can ‘weigh in’ on whether you feel they are Christian or Cult ?The Jehovah’s Witnesses are Christians. Not the same type of “Christian” as Catholics or Methodists or Episcopalians…but they are Christians.
.
Maybe you’re correct. God knows who belongs to Him.Pretty much, yes.

Indeed…and the rest of us don’t get a vote in that!Maybe you’re correct. God knows who belongs to Him.
I can claim I am a size 2, but I am a size 6.According to their official website, they claim to be Christian. So I imagine that if you 'listen to the JW" they will say that yeah, they are Christians.
I’ve never heard of any.Have any JW’s converted to RCC … and can ‘weigh in’ on whether you feel they are Christian or Cult ?
I don’t think the word “cult” is helpful. Sociologically, there’s no reason a cult couldn’t be Christian (though by at least one definition a Christian cult would have to be in a largely non-Christian society). Theologically, “cult” is an alien term that should never have been adopted in preference to the more venerable word “heresy.”Have any JW’s converted to RCC … and can ‘weigh in’ on whether you feel they are Christian or Cult ?
Depends entirely on who is standardizing the sizing…I can claim I am a size 2, but I am a size 6.![]()
Well now, that begs the question, doesn’t it? Who is in charge of issuing the trademark?anyway, even if they are not a true christian with the official trade mark that would not preclude them from salvation in a catholic’s eyes depending on the circumstances.
Or in many other communities.
I don’t see why. The only way that they, or their doctrine, could possibly be scary is if it’s true and you don’t join up. Do you have any worries about that? How they feel about non JW’s on the other hand… well it does not look good for any non JW’s from what I can see from their standpoint.
They scare the daylights out of me.
I hope that you are wrong about that. If you are right, it’s one of the saddest statements I have ever read.I’ve never heard of any.
I’m a JW, and of the ones I have known who have left or been expelled, none I can think of have gone to any other religion.
Most become non-religious. Many say: “When I’m ready i will come back.”
Surely there must be some who join other faiths, but generally (from my experience) it is a one way street in from other religions.
Dianaiad, were you saying a person is a Christian if they believe they are or that their core beliefs are correct?Maybe you’re correct. God knows who belongs to Him.
I believe they are a cult But when Parker was here he ask if they said it was Christian,he is a JW and he was acting like they act like they are not ChristianMaybe you’re correct. God knows who belongs to Him.
I’m saying that a person is a Christian if they identify their religious belief system as centering around the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth…and if they claim to be Christian.Originally Posted by dianaiad

The teaching that anyone can believe anything they want and still call themselves Christian is a little silly. The proof that that doesn’t work is that Mormons call themselves Christian.I’m saying that a person is a Christian if they identify their religious belief system as centering around the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth…and if they claim to be Christian.
If being ‘correct’ is a requirement, then none of us are Christian.
