Are the Patriarchs of the Hebrew Bible saints?

Does the Catholic Church teach that the Patriarchs are saints, who intercede on our behalf?

All of God’s people are saints.
No saint intercedes for anyone. Christ is the only mediator between God and Man.

where do you get this information from?

Does this mean that you would never pray for your children? Or for your friends and family?

Do you only pray for yourself?

You do not intercede on their behalf? do you deny yourself this role?

He didn’t ask what your opinion was, he asked what the Catholic Church teaches on the subject.

That said, since the Patriarchs are now in heaven, they are Saints.
CCC 2683: The witnesses who have preceded us into the kingdom, especially those whom the Church recognizes as saints, share in the living tradition of prayer by the example of their lives, the transmission of their writings, and their prayer today. They contemplate God, praise him and constantly care for those whom they have left on earth. When they entered into the joy of their Master, they were “put in charge of many things.” Their intercession is their most exalted service to God’s plan. We can and should ask them to intercede for us and for the whole world.

I pray for everyone who is alive.

I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to give my opinion.
If you read the Bible you will find saints mentioned who were alive at the time.

Does the Bible teach that the saints are dead? or are they alive in heaven and rejoicing at the coming of Jesus.

And if you can intercede why cannot they?

Isnt that contrary to your understanding that there are no intercessors?

Why bother praying for another, if your intercession counts for naught?

I seemed a little harsh as I went back to read my post. Sorry, I could have worded that different. Although you could have said “I don’t know what the Catholic Church teaches but…” in your first post.

Anyway, your post said saints can’t intercede, and you imply that you are a saint, so why would you think that your prayers would make any difference? I think that’s the point the OP is making.

Although I understand where you are coming from, the OP may not.

Please show me where the Bible says that in heaven there are any other mediators other than Christ.

You just stated that you intercede on the behalf of others.

There is only one mediator, Jesus Christ.

All the saints are intercessors. Someone provide this gentleman with a link to the catechism.
