Are there any other Catholic Bible studies than Catholic Scripture Study International?

I googled this because I had heard of this and do not want to attend a nondenominational Bible study because I am seeking to convert to Catholicism, I think, and I am not strong enough in the faith to go to a non-Catholic Bible study. Even if I were strong enough in the faith I probably would not go simply because I might think I’m stronger in the faith than I really am and I do not want to jeopardize that. Right now I’m only thinking about RCIA but at the same time, that doesn’t mean that I do not want to connect with anyone.

I looked up classes that had CSS International, but the classes are in towns too far away from me. It’s not that I wanted to take a class right now, but I’m trying to find parishes in my town that may have Bible studies, because for me that is an indicator that some form of fellowship is trying to be attained. Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree here:o

Is CSS the only one around? Is there anything else I could look up? Thanks.

To find parishes in your town that offer Bible studies, you’ll either have to tell us what town you live in so people can tell you if they know of one close to you, or you need to check all the parishes close by to you to see what they offer, let us know what it is, and we’ll tell you if we know anything about it.🙂

After 4 years In the Archdiocese of NY Bible study I graduated and created my own bible study.I don’t lead what I call a “touch feely” Bible study but one that is substantial and not full of hot air:D Either do it yourself or find someone with biblical background to start one:)

What a blessing! We look forward to your posts here, and the Lord is pleased that you are seeking the fulness of truth. As to bible study, CSSI is probably the best one out there, for orthodox Catholicism. You might email CSSI to see if there is a parish in your neighborhood which has purchased the program. You could also inquire at a few of the local parishes. Bible study is usually conducted by DREs (Director of Religious Education), salaried individuals who are employed by the parish. If you are blessed, you might find one willing to have a look at CSSI’s program and consider it. You might even be called upon to start one! Imagine that…

There must be! Call your Archdiocese and ask about it. Someone will be able to help.

One of my parish’s popular Bible studies is Cornerstone .

For personal study using audios, my parish has a free website offering audios, powerpoints, and handouts as available for free listening and download at stmarthaaff.com .

If you go to the Scripture menu button, there are several studies up. One of the best studies our Faith Formation Director presented is, in my opinion, Revelation-- a series of 14 classes. I had read and studied Scott Hahn’s series’ on Rev., and found Jeff’s to be as good from a different, more historical perspective.

He also has up his Intro to Scripture Study and several others.

Hoping to add some good Catholic commentary and dictionaries that are new and undercopyright, which would be great editions at a $ Cost. (Looking for the Navarre commentary, Ignatius commentary, Father Harden’s dictionary and a few others)
