Some fall slowly while others fall quickly. Either way a fall is a fall, and you my friend have fallen away.I disagree. I didn’t fall away from the Catholic Church. I didn’t slowly decrease my Mass attendance or devotions. I made the conscious decision to leave…
"A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path and was trampled, and the birds of the sky ate it up. Some seed fell on rocky ground, and when it grew, it withered for lack of moisture. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it. And some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew, it produced fruit a hundredfold." --Luke 8:5-8
Our Lord explains to all of us why Catholics fall away from His Church.
"The seed is the word of God. Those on the path are the ones who have heard, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts that they may not believe and be saved. Those on rocky ground are the ones who, when they hear, receive the word with joy, but they have no root; they believe only for a time and fall away in time of trial. As for the seed that fell among thorns, they are the ones who have heard, but as they go along, they are choked by the anxieties and riches and pleasures of life, and they fail to produce mature fruit."–Luke 8:11-14
The reason for your fall is one of these my friend but dont worry as long as you are alive there is still time to come back and bear fruit. I wouldnt wait thought because death can come at anytime.
I have always wondered what exactly is so questionable about Catholic baptisms. I hear some who say it is because Catholics do not submerge themselves under water but I ask you are baptisms required to be done this way? Where in Scripture does it say this? Is there Scriptural evidence of a baptism where someone was submerged? Sprinkling water sounds a little bit more logical especially when baptizing people in houses and prisons (which was something the apostles frequently did). Regardless either way is a valid baptism so this cannot be what’s “questionable.”And if all baptisms are Catholic baptisms, then this must be news to the churches that require a person to be rebaptized due to the questionable nature of Catholic baptism.
This must then leave infant baptisms as being the “questionable” practice although I do not understand why this is “questionable” either. One would think that the same God who commanded that all male Jews including infants be circumcised in order to enter the covenant as members of His chosen people wouldn’t really have a problem with infants being baptized…since baptism is the means for which we enter the new covenant that God has made with His people. I find it very strange that the same God who was circumcised while He was an infant would have a problem with infants being baptized. When looking at it I think the only questionable thing here is why anyone would have a problem with infant baptisms especially if Gods very commands and actions show that God did not exclude infants from joining in His covenant in the past.
I guess it doesnt surprise me that other Churches have a problem with Catholic baptisms since when you leave the Church Christ founded you also leave the Pillar of truth and fall into all sorts of errors.
Yes the devil does not adhere to the commandments of God but he is still an angel. Likewise Judas did not adhere to the teachings of Christ but he is still an apostle and bishop of the Church. You my friend are Catholic and will always be Catholic weather your adhere to the faith or not. A human can act like a dog but this does not change the fact that they are still human. Likewise a Catholic can act like a Portestant, Muslim, Buddhist, Agnostic, or Athiest but this does not change the fact that they are still Catholic. Being a Catholic is not just something you believe but something you are and when your were born again after baptism a Catholic is what you became.I’m sorry, but the Catholic Church is not the Borg. Your Church can consider me whatever you want, but I’m not a Catholic. I purposely do not adhere to the faith as practiced by those in union with Rome.
God Bless
