In Alameda, California a man waded into the ocean in 4 ft of water to commit suicide he stood in the ocean for an hour.
The police, fireman and coast guard just stood on the shore and just watched him die.
(he died of hypothermia) Finally a woman who is only 20 went out and dragged his dead body to shore.
The man even looked back several times at the people just watching him. Isnt that awful… he just needed to know someone cared.
The authorities cited budget cuts and lack of training. (not sure what kind of training is needed to walk out to him)

On the radio this was being discussed and Christians were saying… we are obligated to save him. Others were saying… he could have taken them with him to a watery grave they are under no obligation.
I know I would have gone in to try and talk to him. I don’t think I would be strong enough to drag a grown man into shore… but I know I would have tried to reason with him.
Are we as Catholics required to risk our own lives to save a suicidal person?
The people that just watched… what have they done? What sin do you think they committed? If any.
