Are women who have had an abortion the same as any other child murder?

You’d be quite surprised to know just how many “good Catholic women” out there have had abortions when they were in high school or college! I can almost guarantee there are probably a few in your own parish that you’d never guess would do such a thing. I happen to know of a couple of women who now are leaders in their homeschool community and are looked upon as very devout wives and mothers. I don’t know you, but my guess is to say these ladies probably have you topped in the “holiness” contest. They realized the gravity of their sins, confessed them, and were welcomed back into the Church. You seem to forget that Jesus forgives the sinner that repents. I find your comment and question more than a little distasteful! While abortion is still murder, comparing it as you did, does no one any good.
Yes they can repent and be forgiven if truly they are sorry. However any God fearing Christian has numerous verus in the bible to relate to and how evil abortion is. I did not know !!!, is not an excuse. Not in todays day and age. We are not in a hidden tribe in the Amazon. That is not going to work.
I’m sure they had to look up where to go, where to get the money, and again over 47% of the abortions in this country are from multiple abortions.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Psalm 139:13-16
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

Luke 1:44
For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

Isaiah 49:1

Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name.

Luke 1:41
And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,

Jeremiah 1:4-5
Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Job 10:8-12
Your hands fashioned and made me, and now you have destroyed me altogether. Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese? You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.

Job 3:3
“Let the day perish on which I was born, and the night that said, ‘A man is conceived.’

Exodus 23:7
Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.

Isaiah 49:15
“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
