Thanks! I do have a car yes 🙂 but it would be odd to just drop in on some parish not knowing anyone. Feel free to PM me 😉

sorry I was off line all day yesterday so I missed this post.
Sure you could. They need the money, all those fish fries.

I’m wondering if it’s more of a midwestern tradition. It really is too bad because at least at our former parish, it was a good money maker, plus an excellent social activity! Well, once I have a new home, maybe I can convince my new parish to start a new tradition!
I don’t think it’s a MW tradition, cause I’m in the South, and we has fish fries on just about every corner during Lent!
Our Archdiocese (Louisville, KY) publishes a list of the fish fries around the city and surrounding areas.

We actually belong to 2 parishes (long story), both of which have fish fries.
Parish #1 – country church, has the KofC fish fry EVERY Friday during Lent. No alcohol, no social things, but is very busy, and we generally go there just about every Friday.
Parish #2 – city church, with a school – has 2 fish fries during Lent. We went this past Friday, and it was WALL TO WALL people! Fish, pizza and side items, beer, and games for the kids. We went and socialized, but did not eat – went out for sushi instead! Yum!

We went to our parish’s fish fry for the first time last week. The kids meals were only 2.00 and had your choice of fish sticks, huge cheese pizza slice, or grilled cheese, two huge sides, dessert and a can of soda!!!

What a great deal!!
