I can’t understand why God would allow the innocent to die if they are outside travelling and the 3 days & 3 nights occurs?
For the same reason that some first born Jews died when the Angel of death was killing the first born of Egypt and they were not inside their homes protected by the blood on the doorpost.

That’s right.

The innocent outside get a one way ticket to Heaven. Doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me 😛
Yeah but being scared to death by a demon sounds like a scarry way to go.

and again…

And not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking him

And it came to pass, that, after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions. (Luke2:45-46)

And your point is … ?

Are you saying that the three days in the temple foreshadow the 3 days of darkness? If not, exactly the point being is?

:o Well I happened to come across another 3 day event in the life of Jesus and shared it? Sorry for the confusion this might have stirred.

Two very commoin themes to these prophecies are an involvement of Russia, and the overtaking of the Vatican.

Two events that, at this time, seem rather unlikely. This got me to thinking though, just how well protected is the Vatican and the Pope to a potential enemy?

Wonderful! My favourite “saint” though I know she is Blessed only at the moment. I did have some info about her but can’t find it at the moment. She did a lot more than fortell things. I always ask for her intervention, especially for animals! Will get back with info ASAP.

Sir Knight:
No…Because the church’s mession is to teach the gospel of Christ and it does not require the faithful to believe ANY private revelation INCLUDING those at Fatima – which were personally believed by many Popes who, according to our beliefs, are guided by the Holy Spirit of God when it comes to matters of faith.
Lourdes, Fatima and for that matter, St. Faustina’s predictions are all much newer than this set. These have a alrge following of Faithful. And all of those had predictions that were not always “on the mark”. People also see things in Revelation that aren’t there, Catholics and Protestants alike.

I cannot convince you to quit worrying about something that might happen, or might be an allegory, or might be poetic language. I can only warn you against a bunker mentality, and being afraid when there is no reason to fear. Talk to your priest about it, please. It might only be my opinion, but I think you are frightening yourself.

Search the web site, www.vatican.va. You will find that the Swiss Guard has back-up, and big time back-up.

Daniel Marsh:
do you live in an area where there are 3 days of tortal darkeness? I was in Fairbanks once in early July and there was 22 hours of daylight. I didn’t think it got as far as 24 hours though.

I’ve known about this prophesy for about twenty years now. It use to scare me when I was younger and it doesn’t make me feel all that comfortable right now, pushing 50.

However, I too wonder if she is referring to a “spiritual” darkness or in fact, an actual physical event.

Just recently, within the past week before I saw your post, I’ve started reading as much material as I can regarding this prophesy and others like it. For some reason, it seems, God wants me to be familiar with it again. This time I don’t have fear, I just want to remember exactly what it did say.

For the past year, the Lord has really been bringing home to me about my lack of …let’s say…“attention to detail” regarding the “signs of the times.”

I have always known that Jesus will take care of His own and that if we are living according to the Scriptures and His will, we have nothing to fear, our lives are in His hands. However, for some reason, recently, my attention is being strongly called to these past prophesies — and frankly, I need to review and research more and again.

I believe to have a “child-like” faith would be to have the supplies on hand, pray as directed and feel prepared, but don’t give into fear. I don’t believe the Lord would want His faithful to fear. But I do believe He would want us to be prepared … and then have peace about it.

I find the Rosary very consoling when I am perplexed about these world events that may have occurred, or are about to occur. The Blessed Mother’s intercessory prayer and comfort towards her children during stressful times brings the Peace that passes understanding.

I think the pope could be made to leave the Vatican in response to some kind of terrorist attack → evacuation. This is how I believe it will happen…

CSN, good morning, I’m up with the birds too…wait a minute, it’s too dark for even the birds to be up! I’m here with Jesus, I guess!

Anyway, this would be pure speculation, but I’ve often wondered if these type of events wouldn’t be triggered by something of what you’ve suggested, the Pope being evacuated or forced to flee the Vatican.

One of the reasons I “speculate” let me repeat, speculate about this, is because many protestants seem to believe (from what they deduct in Scripture) that the antichrist will be from Rome or in Rome, or have something to do with the Catholic Church. Being a lifelong Catholic and a revert who loves her Church now more than ever, I can’t buy into that theory.

However, it would be plausible to me anyway, that a “false” pope could assume Peter’s chair and “pretend” to rule Catholics. Now by this I don’t mean any duly elected Pope, such as our popes have been until now. I actually mean, the real Pope being forced to leave or go underground, and a “new” pope emerges.

IF this were to happen, I believe all true Catholics would know immediately that someone “assuming” the office does not mean that he is, in fact, really pope.

From that perspective, as I say pure speculation on my part, a false pope who put himself in office, would indeed be an antichrist because he would have “usurped” Peter’s chair and, only the truly spiritually blind would think he could serve as a real pope.

This would serve only to delude “political” leaders, but would have little effect on the truly faithful. His succeeding in deluding political leaders and mass amounts of people “unfamiliar” with the validity in selecting a pope, could cause great harm to the uninformed.

My tendency to speculate on these matters keeps me tuned into Vatican news events. But I do wonder is others have had similar leanings in this area.

Good morning, Seabird. I had to read your first sentence a couple of times to understand what it meant 🙂

Well, there’s another thing about the popes, and that is the list of Saint Malachy, which ends either at this pope or the next one. It’s a bit morbid, but sometimes I feel like I have been lucky to live in perhaps the best of times in the best of places, not having gone through any war, famine, disease or any other calamity. The payback is that I feel the strong likelihood is that I will be seeing the end of world…

I think too many people are getting hung up on so-called prophecies. I say so-called because even if a private revelation is approved by the Church we are not obliged to believe it.
As I said in an earlier post we don’t need private prophecies. Jesus already warned us all to be ready because we don’t know the time and the hour. That’s all we need to know and live in accordance with his teachings and try our best to stay in a state of grace.
As for stocking up with enough food and water for 3 days and nights??? Don’t most people normally shop once a week and buy for the following week anyway??
