Hello

I pray in the morning, the rosary and evening or night prayers on a daily basis.

Setting time to pray to God is precious these days.

God Bless
Saint Andrew.

I pray everyday, when ever the moment arises. I simply converse as friends would. I try to keep it so that he is a part of most parts of my day. I do however, struggle with Formal prayer. I hope to rectify this, and work towards better understanding the devotion of it.

We must be careful about our definition of prayer. “Prayer”, St. Teresa of Avila says, “is a lifting of the heart and the mind to God.”
Vocal prayer is the way we begin the journey to contemplative prayer. Dedicatiion to vocal prayer will advance a soul rapidly towards contemplative prayer.
Your whole post is worth posting, but i wanted to stress your above points.

Like Brother Lawrence had said, A constant communion with God is what we seek.

May God help me and you and everyone who reads this and all to live that kind of life.

I saw a fascinating show about St Terese on her spiritual dryness and the problems she had in prayer. It explained that she had a severe problem praying the rosary - did not find any spiritual encouragement in this and was distracted often. HOWEVER, the important thing was to keep it up and keep it up. Persevere regardless of the lack of warm fuzzies. It’s in the dry times that one gains the most blessings.
I have spiritual dryness lots of times.

I do pray everyday.

Reading here has encouraged me to get back to LOH. I love it, but lost my guidebook at one point. I have it back, but never picked up the habit.

I try to say a novena for priests I know around their ordination anniversaries. I discovered this way how many were ordained in May!

I say a number of different prayers, but am not so good at spontaneous prayer. Not good with the Rosary either.

Guess I know where my work is!

CARose:
I .

Each school morning, while driving my daughter to school we say what I call a Rosette. It’s an Our Father, 3 Hail Mary’s, a Glory Be, Fatima Decade Prayer, St. Michael the Archangel Prayer and a Guardian Angel Prayer. I love knowing I’ve sent her to school armed for whatever might come her way. Also, it prevents us from Mother / Daughter gossip that might otherwise occupy our time.

CARose
I do something very similar, I pray the Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory Be. I’ve been doing that for years. I was outside the church for 40 years and said those prayers almost daily. I came back to the Church a little over a year ago. I now say/pray the rosary daily and a few other prayers.

But I have added the Fatima prayer to my Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory Be. These four prayers are prayed by me several times a day. I just know that my “rosary prayers” and the intercession of Sister Lucia, Blessed Franciso and Blessed Jacinda is what brought me back to the Catholic Church.

Praying with your daughter on her way to school is so beautiful…God Bless You.
