I try to pray the LOH daily (except daytime prayer). Also, I (mostly) keep up with my Regnum Christi daily prayer commitments.

I say a short prayer every morning and one at night but sometimes I fall asleep druing my night prayer:o
For lent this year…I want to start giving thanks before every meal (I often forget to do this)
also…I need to pay attention during my prayers…as my mind often starts to drift.

I always say a Rosary at night, and a thank you/pray for a good day in the morning. Then, whenever I feel the need during the day, I do.

Eamon

I pray through out the day I just say short prayers of thanks and ask for strength everyday. I am never really far from the Lord.

God Bless
Kathleen

Yes

I work 4 days a week 6 am - 4:30 pm

Up at 3 am–pray Morning Offering and Matins (office or reading from LOTH – our state dioceses have an easy to follow ordo which I use).

Then I pray the Rosary while riding the exercise bike.

Then, when I arrive at work at a local rural hospital I stop at the chapel and pray Lauds and read the readings for the Mass of the day in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. I try to spend some time in adoration, too, if I have time.

After work, I stop back at the chapel and pray the Angelus and Vespers.

I’m gonna let you in on what seems to be the biggest well- kept secret. The more time you give to God in prayer each and every day- the more God will multiply your time for other things. Kindof like the fish and loaves miracle. Somehow God will give you back an abundance of time in your day.

.
this is the most under-taught truths about prayer which should be transmitted in every RCIA, CCD, religious education class, through sermons, on billboards, IM every Catholic on earth.

It is the answer to time-management woes that are the underlying cause of stress and stress-related ills that plague us in modern life. The reason is priorities. Every secular expert on time management and organization strategies will tell you setting priorities is the key to getting a handle on things. Putting prayer first puts God first. If God is not first, nothing else will ever fall into its rightful place. Giving that hour to God sanctifies all the other hours, blesses all the work, leisure and duties of those hours, and all the human contacts during those hours.

Prayer is taking on the yoke of Christ, who bears our burdens for us.

I pray in My Sleep.
as Paul tells us, we are to pray always. Bill is right, if you pray right before bedtime and consecrate your sleeping as well as your waking hours to Christ, you will indeed be praying while you sleep.

I remember my aunt, “the nun,” telling me when I was very young that she prayed all day. I could not fathom what she meant by that or being able to do it. I have always had a difficult time saying set prayers at set times. But these days I find myself in front of God many times during the day – when I pass a religious picture, when I hear a saint’s name, when someone mentions someone who has died (then I pray for all the dead).

I have made a deal with God that I will always offer myself and my day (or night) to Him before I do anything else and ask that I do His will. And I always pray before eating or drinking anything, just to thank God – recently I have had cause to really know that whatever we eat or drink is truly a gift! When I hear blasphemy, I pray that God’s Name be praised. When I pass a Catholic Church or see one on television, I pray to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. I try to say the Angelus at 6:00 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. And so forth.

Turns out that my aunt was not talking about anything heroic, just a second here and a second there. But when I have not prayed my set morning prayers, I find that some time during the day I regret it. There is no substitute for the sentiments that are in those.

I used to resist prayer, used to think up every excuse possible not to sit down and pray, though I knew that I must. Today I yearn to pray, look forward to those moments when I can sit down and speak to Him. I do have times of aridity and dryness, distraction and feelings that no ones there-but I cannot imagine a day when I do not pray.Pray is a pure gift, to undeserving persons like me. It is the action of the indwelling Trinity illuminiting us despite our fear and boredom and foot dragging. And I am truely grateful that the lord was patient with me

I say prayers at various times throughout the day. Helps me keep a handle on things.

i am going to throw another two cents in

prayer is communication with God. my prayer time is when i wake up. i have my morning prayers. then i spend time with the God of my life. then my day is with God. whenever i do anything,
i feel that my Guardian Angel is at my side, i hope

when St Paul said pray constantly, (i who am nothing), think prayer is to be constantly aware of the presence of our God. so the every movement i make is with that awareness.

i am still very much a sinner, in case anyone wonders. but i am trying

I try to. I oftenly just say them in my mind when ever I am in a quiet place for my mind to just, wander off to.

I would go so far as to ask are we actually praying or simply saying our prayers?

Didn’t St Francis say something like - pray for half an hour daily, unless you are really busy. Then pray for an hour.

Not sure who said that (in a very paraphrased way) Maybe someone else said that - but it’s one of God’s daily miracles for His faithful.
Thanks for the reminder. As a single mom who works a full time job and a part time job, then comes home to take care of the house, the child, cook dinner, pay the bills, etc, I’m lucky I have the energy to do anything besides work and take care of my wonderful son:love: . Maybe if I get in the habit of praying, I’ll even have time to exercise.

Arent we supposed to pray ‘unceasingly’?

If I dont pray, I feel terrible. And not the guilty kind of terrible, the sick kind of terrible.

All of my life comes from prayer.

I try the unceasing prayer. I start with the Morning Offering so that everything I do becomes a prayer and offering to God. That way, I am keeping myself to be more charitable, more honest, etc. since I am offering to God. I pray the rosary because it is such a wonderful way to contemplate the life of Jesus and to have our Mom in heaven help us out. Being close to out heavenly mother is wonderful. I also say intermittent prayers to ask help and guidance (especially when faced with a difficult situation).

At church on prolife Sunday they gave us a holy card with prayers for the unborn, and I have added that to my routine. I will pray for the same unborn for nine months. This prayer is wonderful. You pray not only for the unborn baby (which you name) but also for the family that needs to help support life. It is a beautiful prayer.

When the evening comes, I begin novena prayers. I pray for the intercession of St. Therese, St. Anthony, St. Peregrine, St. Anne, St. Michael, St. Joseph, and St. Rita. I seem to keep adding on other saints.

It was not that long ago I did not find time to pray except at church on Sunday or an occasional quick request. Now, I keep adding on more prayer. I find the time, and use time wiser. I think it has improved my life and no doubt my faith.

Michael C:
I say them with my mouth every morning and I am trying to pray once in the afternoon, evening and night. What worries me is that I don’t 100% of the time say them with my heart. That’s the trick…
Oooooh!!! This is a great comment. That’s my problem too. I say morning and evening prayers with my kids and sometimes I say them without thinking----certainly not praying with my heart. When I say my own prayers in quiet and/or do meditative reading then my heart gets more involved.

Father Corapi said something I’ll never forgett. He said that prayer is something that should be done without ceasing. Pray always, your whole day should be a prayer.

Yes, I sure do! I love Morning and Evening prayer, (liturgy of the hours!). I also attend daily mass when I can
and daily rosary! And Yes, the more time you devote to prayer, the more time God finds for you to get things done!:yup:
