I try to pray the LOH daily (except daytime prayer). Also, I (mostly) keep up with my Regnum Christi daily prayer commitments.
this is the most under-taught truths about prayer which should be transmitted in every RCIA, CCD, religious education class, through sermons, on billboards, IM every Catholic on earth.I’m gonna let you in on what seems to be the biggest well- kept secret. The more time you give to God in prayer each and every day- the more God will multiply your time for other things. Kindof like the fish and loaves miracle. Somehow God will give you back an abundance of time in your day.
.
as Paul tells us, we are to pray always. Bill is right, if you pray right before bedtime and consecrate your sleeping as well as your waking hours to Christ, you will indeed be praying while you sleep.I pray in My Sleep.
Thanks for the reminder. As a single mom who works a full time job and a part time job, then comes home to take care of the house, the child, cook dinner, pay the bills, etc, I’m lucky I have the energy to do anything besides work and take care of my wonderful sonI’m gonna let you in on what seems to be the biggest well- kept secret. The more time you give to God in prayer each and every day- the more God will multiply your time for other things. Kindof like the fish and loaves miracle. Didn’t St Francis say something like - pray for half an hour daily, unless you are really busy. Then pray for an hour.
Not sure who said that (in a very paraphrased way) Maybe someone else said that - but it’s one of God’s daily miracles for His faithful.
Oooooh!!! This is a great comment. That’s my problem too. I say morning and evening prayers with my kids and sometimes I say them without thinking----certainly not praying with my heart. When I say my own prayers in quiet and/or do meditative reading then my heart gets more involved.I say them with my mouth every morning and I am trying to pray once in the afternoon, evening and night. What worries me is that I don’t 100% of the time say them with my heart. That’s the trick…
