Are you serving in one form or another for any of the Christmas Masses?

One thing I love about being involved in the Holy Mass is that I can serve for special times like Christmas. I have to read at the Midnight Mass and then serve at the Mass at Dawn on Christmas Day.

I’ll be MCing at a Vigil Mass, Midnight Mass, and Mass at Dawn. 🙂

What Form?
All OF. Traditionally minded OF (so called benedictine arrangement, introit during the procession, altar boys in cassocks, incence, chanted dialogs, old choral works, probably including Palestrina and Victoria), but OF nonetheless.

I’m learning the EF, though.

Yes me too. I will be serving the vigil Mass this year and the sacristan.

Nice nice. Get to learnin’ them Prayers at the Foot of the Altar and that magnificent long Confiteor!

Unfortunately, I am not doing anything at any of the masses except going to them. Perhaps next year.

I’m serving at two vigil Masses and at the late morning Mass on Christmas Day.

I’m serving at the 4pm Vigil Mass at my parish. I’ll likely be thurifer or crucifer.

I am sacristan for the Midnight Mass (at midnight) with our Bishop and then sacristan again at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Christmas day.

OF, with chant, introit, traditional music, and lots of incense. I spent about two hours last night cleaning the thurible, which had quite a resin buildup. It’s nice and shiny now, ready to welcome the Lord!

This will be the first Christmas Mass in a number of years that my son will sit with me in the pew. He has been an altar server at Christmas for at least the past 5 years.

I’m not sure what I think, yet.

Not this year, since I’m out of the Parish for Christmas. I have to admit that I’m rather looking forward to being just a PIP this year.
