Catholic churches in southern Minnesota this week launched a huge television ad campaign to draw lapsed Catholics back to the church.

“A lot of Catholics are on the fence, and these ads tug at the heart, like with pictures of girls receiving First Communion. It says, ‘We want you back. This is your home,’” said the Rev. Matt Fasnacht, pastor of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Stewartville.

I am doing this program right now. I am loving it. It is a great place to ask those difficult questions about issues that have kept people away from the Church - or, for me, those reasons that I was told not to be Catholic.
