Well, I have just reposted what you said. So your “observation”, not “complaint” is that people who have a devotion to the Scapular are not as devoted to prayer?
Didn’t say that.

Please, read what I said and stop insisting on what you* think* I said.

I’m sorry, I guess I’m just not that swift. Since I’m not getting what you posted, why don’t you just tell me? You’re not saying that those who have a devotion to the scapular do not have a devotion to prayer? Then what are you saying??

I said I would like to see as much effort put into discussion on the devotional prayers etc. as there is put into if one should be worn in the shower or not.

:amen:

It seems that the externals is a very important focus point for this sub-forum.

Then you need to search the forum, for there are many posts about devotional prayers. This particular thread happens to be about wearing the scapular, not devotional prayers.

Yep, saw lots of “Brown scapular threads” even participated in a few of them. Most are the same just like this one. Chocked FULL of missinformation.

Your opinion.

I assume you don’t wear the Scapular?

I have known people who wear the scapular and have no prayer life. That live a life other than what one would say is a good one.

It happens.
I have worked with the seriously mentally ill in my career and met a few folks who wore various scapulars and religious medals at one time and suffered from psychotic disorders and have great anxiety regarding religious matters- extending into delusions. it is indeed possible that some do see the scapulars and the related promises as kinds of “religious talismans”.
