I’m pretty sure Jesus said something about people ridiculing us and hurting us and all if we became followers of Him.
The beatitudes do not say that we
will be persecuted, but that if we are, we are blessed to be so because of his Name.
*Matthew 5:10: Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Luke 6:22 22Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.*
But Catholics are like the most dominant religion in the world, and look at Vatican City.
Catholics are the most numerous, but that has no bearing on things of this world.
We pretty much own the world.
If we did, then there would be no abortion, or other attrocities against the family.
It’s a normal thing to say your Catholic ( unless you live in certain places in the middle east), and no one starts to beat you when you admit to it.
In the US, and some places in Western Europe, this is true-- Catholics are not normally physically abused. However, they are persecuted in other ways. And, in other countries, many many people die each year for their faith.
Your post mocks their sacrifice.
Jews, on the other hand, are the people i think are the most ridiculed.
They are persecuted, yes. I would not say they are “most” ridiculed.
I mean, i know in the beginning, christians were hunted down and all, but nowadays pretty much everyone is catholic, or at least some type of christian.
I disagree. “Pretty much everyone” is a stretch-- not everyone is Catholic or even Christian. No where near it. And, Christians are
still hunted down and killed in many countries in the world.
