Jesus did reform Judaism. He completed it. The reform He initiated, we call Catholicism.

Now, if you believe that Catholicism today stands in need of reform, I am inclined to agree with you. But remember that Jesus said, “not a jot, not a tittle of the Law shall pass away, until it is all fulfilled.”

Similarly, the reform of the religion Jesus established cannot contradict the religion Jesus established.

Martin Luther attempted to reform the Church of Christ, and ended up, instead, watering it down and creating scandal in the eyes of the whole world. Because he presumed to contradict the Church Jesus had established.

The Pharisees and the Scribes rejected Jesus when He came to them. If they had not, then Jesus would indeed simply have reformed the Judaic religion, and today we would have the Judaic Church rather than the Catholic Church, centered in Jerusalem rather than in Rome. But free will is real, and the Pharisees and Scribes chose to reject Jesus for the protection of their own power. Therefore Our Lord said to them, “the Kingdom shall be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce its fruit.”

Take Martin Luther, then, as an object lesson. Our Lord also spoke, “whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me, scatters.” Martin Luther contributed to the scattering as opposed to the gathering. Do not make the same error!
I agree with just about everything you say here. Protestantism did water down the original; and I can’t see much improvement.

Jesus’ statement, above, is filled with wisdom.

No. my book is unpublished. CODA: Conversations On A Dying Age. Subtitled: “The American Book of the Dead”. I’ve published some of it online:

hoalantrangallery.com/Conversations%201.htm

It began as a work of fiction and then became something else: a journey into the Land of the Dead, the Spiritual Kingdom. Jacob Heimkreiter, my protagonist, is a modern version of the Biblical Jacob.

The book culminates in a Book of Revelaltion experience in 1983. And then a resurrection.

If humans can be reincarnated in to animals then how can an animal improve its karma and become a better thing if animals don’t really understand karma and reincarnation etc.???

She thinks that in a past life she was a Benedictine monk as she can see pictures of monastic life in her mind. She also has friends who have similar things so maybe there is a peer pressure thing going on.
Have you ever noticed that everyone who thinks they were somebody in a past life never identifies themselves as an insignificant rice farmer that nobody knew?

They always fantasize that they were “somebody” special.

Its an extension of the ego, clearly. “Look at me” “Don’t you know who I am??”

"I’m “Somebody” " Kind of like saying: I’m Superman… Please notice me. Revere me, etc.

Looks like you have resurrected an old dormant thread. You should really be starting a new thread (or join a similar recent one).

Anyway, to answer your question - being reborn as an animal is not an accepted part of reincarnation - most Hindus do not believe that happens.

Being reborn as an animal is really part of the belief of transmigration (of souls) - Buddhists believe that can happen.

With reincarnation we are just talking about being reborn as another human (although your gender may change).

Friend,
The most interesting thing that I have read on this subject comes from Some Answered Questions, by Abdul Baha. It is brief and succinct, if interested. I would appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thank you.

Thanks for the link, but I think we should let this old thread die (rip) - there is another thread on reincarnation which is still active.
