If people don’t realize now that he is a thoroughly unhinged, racist loony, there is no hope for them. “…trying to take away our history and our heritage…”, stating that the media was turning off cameras (as they were showing him live), egging on the protesters outside. He is just nuts.

In my circle of friends, colleagues, etc, there has been talk of mental illness for quite a long time. I don’t think most of the dislike of him has anything to do with ideology or politics; it has to do with real concern and fear about serious mental illness causing this uncontrollable behavior. (Well that, and his lack of ethics.)
I think he’s using these rallies to try and charge is base, as that’s really the only thing he has going for him. He’s losing legislative and judicial allies left and right. He wants to hold lawmakers hostage - “support me or I’ll whip my zombies into a frenzy and they’ll vote you out.” These rallies are a show of power. However much it amounts to.
I love that song and the Trump campaign’s use of it. I remember that I had to go out on election night just as Florida was swinging to Trump and liberals were starting to go bonkers. I was still worried though. But when I got in my car, and the sun was setting so beautifully, and that song came on the radio, I knew that Trump was gonna win. Then I got home 3 hours later just before Fox called Wisconsin (!) for Trump and I knew that Crooked H was finished and liberals had been defeated that night.
I think if anyone wants to know why he is protested to the degree he is, for the answer they need to look no further than what was on display from him tonight based on what I too gathered from post-rally coverage and commentary, He never has become Presidential and thus shows no respect for the office. This tonight was nothing more than throwing red meat to his base which will be eaten up by them and they won’t see it, but it will never do anything to bring our nation closer together. And he even told them something that clearly was not true while doing so when he said CNN and others were turning off their cameras. CNN covered the entire event even though the 2020 election is over 1100 days away. If anything, he only further divides.
If your definition of “soundly defeated” is by Florida swinging by a mere 1% and a few others by less than 1%.

I think one reason they might not be able to see it is because they’re too busy praising him for the red meat he feeds them whether it is the truth or not. The CNN part of his speech as an example.
