Arsonist vandalizes Catholic Church in Utah

WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police are looking for an arsonist who vandalized the Saint Joseph the Worker Church with the intention to burn it down.

Yeah, I like the quote from Father Carley…which should be read with an Irish accent.

“I’m sure whoever did it expected to drive away or run away with flames all over in the background,” said Carley.

Thankfully whoever did this didn’t understand the whole concept behind a Molotov cocktail.
 
I had a look at the picture of the minor scorching again and had to laugh. Yeah, luckily they weren’t too familiar with chemistry and and how to make “things that go bang”.

A 17 yr old boy has been arrested in this case. Apparently he tried to set the same church on fire with a soda can, again. And he also tried to set a Mormon church on fire in the same manner.

“Kurek said the boy told investigators he tried to start the fires because he was against all religions for manipulating people.” He said he is against all religions, but he targeted the same Catholic church twice and the only other target was an LDS temple. I’m glad to see he was arrested and may be charged with a hate crime.

On a lighter note, this comment on the article was funny:

Ok if you try the same thing on the LDS chapel and that doesn’t work…why would you think it would work on another building?! Some people just dont learn…
