Apparently not diverse or specific enough if these relevent issues are being omitted for explicit address. Let me guess, also no sermons that explicitly mention why cohabitation before marriage is a sin, the damage of contraception, the offense of promoting female ordination to the priesthood, why one can never in good conscience vote for a pro-abortion candidate when there are alternative candidates, the reality of hell, … I think that parishoners can walk out of Church each week and continue to believe or act wrongly because their specific issue was not addressed as a particular of a well informed and formed conscience. I can still remember the “Vote Kerry” stickers on some cars in our Church parking lot.I don’t hear my priest mention gay priests, gay marriage, or homosexuality in general very much at all. The homilies at my parish are pretty diverse- thankfully.
