Some people can’t reason well or do much else, through disability or some other reason, but still have rights because they’re people and have a soul, created by God.
People here are:
Assuming that people have rights.
Coming up with a list of human characteristics.
Matching those characteristics with non-humans to see if those non-humans should have the rights of humans.
I think the above procedure is useless. I think the criteria is arbitrary to some extent (which one is more important? How did you decide?). The only one that matters is the soul, God’s creation of it, and His command to respect those two facts.
