What does it really mean to be born again? Can I get verses that talk about being born again. Some people I meet say the water isn’t necessary just the spirit. That john said jesus will baptise with spirit

I believe that being born again is an act of God – not an act on our part. It’s about God coming to a broken, sinful person and declaring him/her righteous by means of His Son. Ephesians 2 says that it’s not the result of us doing something to deserve God’s favour. However, if your idea about being born again stops there, you’ve got it wrong. Where there is a genuine conversion and repentance, there is also a change of that person’s heart. The sin that they once loved, they now hate. God causes them to walk and be obedient to His statutes.

I recommend James White’s book ‘The God who justifies’ if you want to do further reading.

To be born of water, to be validly baptized. Yes, every Catholic has been validly baptized.

Don’t listen to them! They deny water baptism, which directly opposes Christ. Read Matthew 28:19-20. Read Mark 16:16. Read Acts 10:40-48. Read Romans 6:3-6.

What they are spouting off is dangerous, man-made error.

Yes, I am a born again Christian, because of my baptism, which happened to be when I was an infant. Read what Jesus says to Nicodemus in John 3:5.

He’s right, protestants don’t like it when Catholics know Scripture lol. I was in a park praying the Rosary and some guy came up to me and asked me if I was ‘born again?’ So I gave him Steve’s answer and told him yes I was born again the Bible way. He said ‘what does that mean?’ I pointed him to John 3 and he got really flustered and said that’s not what that means. I said really what does it mean? He said you are born again by the Word of God. I replied, that’s not what Jesus said here. So he says you still have time to save yourself and stormed off. lol

“Born Again” topic is vital for nominal Christian surrounding, where religion is just a formal tradition on some celebrations. (Christmas, wedding, burial service)
But its so difficult to make this definition.
Does “Born again” momentary or gradual transformation and changing of mind?
I think tthere are also more deeper and profound forms of repentance and sacrifice, and for some it’s not a moment but a process.
What if repentance and sanctification are inseparable?
Some missionaries work in dangerous places, though most of us would never go to those places.
Some willingly choose sacrifice and dangerous work, though most of us search safe, soft, comfortable activities.
I know its my duty to defend my country.
Some dedicated young Christians signed military contract and went to the war zone to defend their country, but I am not that bold.
Some went to serve there as sanitars. (medical workers)
Some work as sanitar-volunteer in the hospitals during Corona virus, because there is not enough helpers there, but I am not that bold even if Heaven is our destination.
Some Christians can not stand persecutions, or prison tortures, or fatal illness and fail when they happen, others can stand them as heroes and great Christ witnesses.
Some atchtieve the highest tops in business, science, academic achievements, and others live very earthly insect life, “little things amuse little minds”.
Some fly like eagles for the Lords mission and grow in holiness, some creep like warms and do not hurry any where.
Some are big doers and less talkers and some vice versa.
Some born again have 10 kids and never complain, others born again have 1 kid or no kids and always complain on economic difficulties and justify themselves before God as victims of systems or circumstances.
I don’t know, born again is transformation, growth in new mind and will, but its so deep and intim in relationship with God.
Yes, if you were Saul yesterday and today you are Paul, then you are born again.
But St. Paul was restless in his work for the Lord, it is very far from comfortable chair insurance.
