“Yes, every time I go to Confession”
THAT’S in a book I’ve got called “PROVE IT! ~CHURCH” AWESOME BOOK!!!if you say “no I’m Catholic” they’ll just try to convert you
you can say something like:
“Are you saved?” asks the Fundamentalist. The Catholic should reply: “As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:18, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13).”

I’m saved, but I am workign out my salvation…
Christ saved me once on the cross, but I can lose that salvation…
When they ask me “Have you found Jesus?” my response is “I didn’t know he was lost!”As I have a warped sense of humour and I fall down a lot I would make a joke and say something like “only when my husband is near enough to catch me when I lose my balance”. When I make jokes like that it usually throws people, and they think I’m too stupid for them to explain what they mean!!!![]()
My response to the “personal savior/relationship” argument is to quote I John 2:4:I always ask them what they mean by being saved. The formulation is almost always something like “accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior”. Then, of course, I always say “Yes, I do accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior” or whatever works if it’s true.
That pretty well ends the whole inquiry, because the whole thing is as shallow as shallow gets.
It’s kind of a slap in the face, but it gets them out of the “personal relationship” smugness. He who saith that he knoweth him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
And the OP has been banned.Four year old thread folks. Four years.
I’m not sure what that has to do with anything. Is there some rule that a discussion can’t be continued if the original poster has been banned? And the OP has been banned.
Ha! I like this answer!i say:
I won’t find out that until judgment day, but you really should consider joining Christ’s one and only church if you are worried about salvation instead of following a heretic like martin luther.
