As New Round of Anglican-Catholic Talks Begin, Some Question the Purpose

I don’t see what there is for them to discuss at this point, apart from what to order for lunch.
 
I agree with the firs comment:
I don’t think we should ever EVER cut off talks with someone who still wishes to talk to us. As long as we stand up for what is true and not water down our differences, if they still wish to talk…GOOD!!!
Jesus himself talked to the pharisees and sadducee too, and turned to the total rejection only on the last two weeks of His life.
 
What’s the downside? It’s not like the Church is going to come out afterwards and say “How about that? We ARE going to ordain women…”

If the focus is on identifying the common ground we DO hold, surely reasonable people will notice that, over the years, that list is shrinking as more and more bizarre ideas become “mainstream” in Anglicanism. IMO, that can’t help but be good both in as a check in the decay of Anglicanism and a beacon for those who become discouraged and want out.
