To be fair, you have to admit there is no equivalence to the occasional “anti-Protestant Catholics” compared to the entire ministries, and organizations dedicated to attacking Catholicism and “saving” Catholics into “real” Christianity." No comparison–not even close. Correct? 🙂
For the most part I figure I am pretty tough. I am not complaining about people attacking ME or my beliefs I am just saying we need to get together and stop arguing because this is futile…

I totally agree. We already work together on family and pro-life issues.There are so many things all Christians have in common. 🙂
 
I voted “Other” because there will be unity. Just not here on earth!👍

I don’t agree… I believe that there CAN be unity… people just need to put focus back on Christ and it will happen…

When did I say He wasn’t the focus of the catholic church? What I said was He isn’t the focus of christians. Especially when they turn their hate on eachother.

Well accusing one side of rejecting Christ is a form of hate in my opinion. Telling one side that they worship dead people is another. Killing one side because they believe something different is another. Telling one side that they are led by Satan is another.

Oh, you wanted one example… sorry…

Oh, believe me. I ain’t cryin’ over here… But as I have said before, I am looking for a way to bring us together. You just asked for an example as if you didn’t believe me. So I offered several.

Now, can you offer a brainstorm of how we can stop the hate?

I suggest that we work together on things that we DO agree on, such as the pro-life movement, defence of traditional marriage and family values and outreach to the poor.

For instance, there is an ecumenical mission meal for the poor that I volunteer with. It is held at a Methodist church in my neighbourhood. The volunteers that help out are Methodist, Catholic (from my church), Lutheran and Presbyterian.

There are also pro-life activities that are ecumenical. A local non-denominational church had speakers in the pro-life movement. There was an advertisement in my church’s bulletin. When a neighbouring Catholic church had a pro-life seminar, they advertised it in the non-denominational church’s bulletin.

There are also ecumenical prayer services held at various churches in my neighbourhood. They rotate between Catholic and Protestant churches. My church had the service, then the Methodist church had it. There are about 10 churches that participate. The choirs from all the churches get together and they all sing during the service. My pastor gave the sermon at the Methodist church. A Presbyterian pastor gave the sermon at my church. After the service, there is a reception where everybody from all the different churches can fellowship. The placemats on the tables had different versions of Grace before meals: there was a Catholic, Protestant and Jewish version printed. I took a placemat home and saved it because I liked the different versions of the prayer.

Yes, I see your list.

I still do not see where I hate, or for that matter that there is hate involved directed to me or my faith.

Maybe you need to be more clear and specific. I just dont see how you can find hate but if you must, and you need to if your faith requires you to, I am sure you will find it.

That is awesome and EXACTLY what we need to see more of! 👍 Can you imagine the impact we, as christians, can make in this world if we take the focus on who is right and who is wrong and just focus on Christ and try to spread His word! Awesome! Just awesome!
