Thank you Archbishop Chaput for your guidance, I pray for our Church and this Country.:gopray2:

For some reason the link does not load completely for me, despite several efforts.

Is there reference in his remarks to catechesis? Because frankly that is a larger, more pervasive, and more primary crisis. You cannot witness effectively what you do not know and what you misinterpret.

Step One: Know what your Church does believe.
Step Two: Know what your own responsibility is regarding that belief.
THEN
Step Three: You are in a position to live out those beliefs in public life.

Steps One and Two are where emergency surgery is called for, and explains why Step Three is not happening. This is quite evident even on this discussion forum, and additionally evident from comments by Catholics in the public square, in positions of influence (journalists, politicians, professors, business people, etc.) One: They are unaware of what the moral theology does and does not say, does and does not allow. Two: They assume that intellectual and practical schizophrenia is acceptable and wise.

(Belief Set A exists for Sunday and religious locations only; Belief Set B, contradicting that, exists for everything and everywhere else. Included in Belief Set B is the mistaken notion that citizens of the U.S. are commanded by the Constitution to accommodate their religious beliefs to whatever is popularly dictated by the current culture, which they let define for them what is absolute and what is relative. Currently, those absolutes and those relativisms are the opposite of what a faithful Catholic believes: i.e., personal pleasure is an Absolute; morality is relative, changeable, always in flux.)

People can keep up their rhetoric all they want. I realize this was a conference, but how many “conferences” do we have to have before action is taken?
