You can’t have it both ways. If you’re going to post negative and nasty things about the pope, you should be open to the same sorts of things being posted about your position. Unless, of course, you expect to be held in higher esteem than the pope?
wow.

OK, I’m done. This is ridiculous

Going on ignore

Well this article was from CAtholicVote and an author that has been covering Popes for 30+ years. It’s not like he is some uninformed anitcatholic author.

You can keep your head in the sand all you like, but that doesn’t change the fact that there are many faithful catholics that are very concerned with some of the things Pope Francis is doing and saying.

In the 100th year of Fatima, we should heed Fatima’s advice and take more seriously the Eucharist…not devalue it.

Sola scriptura has no place in the Catholic Church. If you want to be a Protestant, more power to you. There are many fine Protestants in the world. But don’t you dare call yourself a Catholic.
[Jesus] answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”

Mark 10:11

I think you are adding your own interpretation to those verses. The Bible is a CATHOLIC book after all.

If you won’t listen to Jesus and the Bible then maybe you’ll listen to Pope John Paul II.

John Paul II, who served as Pope from 1978 to 2005 and was canonized a saint in 2014 by Pope Francis, declared in 1981 that the Church “reaffirms her practice” of not allowing divorced and remarried persons to receive Communion because to do so would contradict Church teaching and lead the faithful “into error and confusion” about the “indissolubility of marriage."

He also stated that pastors are forbidden, “for whatever reason or pretext even of a pastoral nature, to perform ceremonies of any kind for divorced people who remarry…"

“However, the Church reaffirms her practice, which is based upon Sacred Scripture, of not admitting to Eucharistic Communion divorced persons who have remarried,” said Pope St. John Paul II.

“They are unable to be admitted thereto from the fact that their state and condition of life objectively contradict that union of love between Christ and the Church which is signified and effected by the Eucharist,” he wrote.

“Besides this,” he continued, “there is another special pastoral reason: if these people were admitted to the Eucharist, the faithful would be led into error and confusion regarding the Church’s teaching about the indissolubility of marriage.”

My Dear Lord God,

Today is Saturday, its a First Saturday, and also the first Saturday of my first Lent in decades. One I am practicing and observing by three things.
  1. Attempting to imitate Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. Attempting a 40 day fast in penance.
  3. Attempting to completely empty myself of my will, so as to trust in Jesus , and do His Will, that of the Trinity.
Yesterday I failed. While driving around with my DIL ( who btw is unbaptised and I am praying will want to be baptised), we were road raged by alittle old lady who almost side swiped us. My DIL , driving, honked her horn, so as not to be hit, the little old lady started pointing fingers and mouthing words. Alas I, (also a little old lady), flipped the finger at the road raging granny. Very uncharitable. Then I had to explain to my DIL, I was in error for being so uncharitable. She laughed, and thought about it.

My dear Lord God,

I am trying very hard to imitate Jesus, when reading through this thread , and others on this forum, that speak, post, type, uncharitably about your Man on earth, Pope Francis.
I am sure Pope Francis has already conquered my 3 goals. By your Grace.

I met , first hand, my Bishop this week. He handed me the ashes to apply to part of the congregation.
I must say, my Bishop is the most meek, humble person I have met. I can only imagine how much more meek and humble Pope Francis is.

Ps My Dear Lord God,
I have a soft spot for the Pope Emeritus. I was very happy to hear he is still with us during that conversation where I confused your priest😇

Pps My Dear Lord God,

I am saying special prayers for those who have stood up for your Man on earth, and spoken for Him.

I am also saying special prayers for Catholics who have chosen their best course of action to be detraction of your Man on earth, beloved Pope Francis.

I believe the wonderful and glorious Holy Spirit is the Trinity member in charge of the Catholic Church.

Does this mean those who speak ill of your Man on earth are attacking Your Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church spiritually, as is the want of the prince of lies ( may St Michael continue kicking its not so princely lying pathetic backside back to hell, by the Grace of God).

Ppps, thankyou for being You.

To those who wish to discuss things other then Ash Wednesday homilies

May I humbly suggest starting your own threads where the title reflects your intended discussions
