Augustine died over 1000 years before Luther was born.
Besides, every Protestant I know will admit that Catholics are right on some doctrinal issues.
He died, Also Before Calvin of whom you mentioned, How can a protestant quote a Catholic theologian, and agree with his thesis,and yet believe different from the Catholic theoligian. I could not quote a protestant theologian to agree with,and then have a different belief system other than the one he taught. I just find that to be a double standard., unless I quoted him to debate him. But I dont find Protestants debating Augustine Catholic theologians, just borrowing from their teaching to prove theirs, but if Augustine were living he would probably have a fit, knowing others outside his faith were quoting him in heretical circles.
