To some Muslims yes. How is it relevant to this discussion we are having? The Crusades are immensely important to Muslims.

I agree, but remember, Mohammed was trying to get as many converts as possible, and by including Abraham, Moses, Jesus, et al, in with his belief system, he could get more to convert to Islam than he otherwise could.… but my point was that as much as they dont believe in Jesus their belief that He is prophet is pointless.
Your ignoring the question makes me suspicious that you are willfully ignorant. To some Muslims yes. How is it relevant to this discussion we are having?
I’m not ignoring it however I am not well read in the history of the conflicts and fail to see how the are relevant to your decision that perhapse you two read too much into my question. If you could provide a rational response as to how they are relevant to our discussion I would be happy to give you my elementary understanding of the events.Your ignoring the question makes me suspicious that you are willfully ignorant.
While it might be argued that in the beginning, when mohammed created his “religion”, it may have been meant to be a complement to Judaism and Christianity, ie Judeo/Christianity for the pagan arabs, it certainly cannot be argued as anything but a total abrogation of not just Judaism and Christianity, but all religious and civil allegience and law to the gods of Islam : allah and mohammed.well!!!
i may be incorrect but i do believe that the muslim religion is actually a form of Christianity.it may well be Blasephamos to some what i just said but lets take alook at what muslims actually believe…they believe that the jews and their holy book is incorect.in fact from the time of moses.(i could be mistaken)this is convenient because it is from moses that the prophecies of Jesus come to surface in jewish texts of religion.they also dont believe what we believe as Christians.that Jesus was crucified and that He is God…they believe He is a prophet…ofcause thats pointless. He may as well have been a painter!!
its like if some1 asked me to watch their glass of juice while they stepped out the room.i take the glass and smash it.then the person returns asks me what happened.i say huh?i dont no your glass just fell!!would the person believe me?would you believe me? but what if i said to the person that i turned and mistakingly knocked it over.would the person believe me now?would you believe me?both reasons are lies.but the latter is more convincing because i admit to some of the truth.but not the whole truth!!
likewise with muslims they accept some of Jesus but not all of Jesus.infact they dont believe the part that actually matters!!so in a way they are Christians but they are not true Christians.
is it not strange to muslims that the jews belief starts with their belief in the 1 true God.and the Christians too believe inthis 1 true God and accept the jews and their religion as part of theirs.but the muslims belief starts with the denial of 2 religions then goes onto what they believe.it does seem weird that something holy starts with a negative infact is full of negative reactions and has very little pro action!!
accept ofcause killing others by killing oneself to gain gifts in heaven!!does this not stink of greed instead of love?
(1) Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about the suckling of an older person. He said, ''Urwa ibn az-Zubayr informed me that Abu Hudhayfa ibn Utba ibn Rabia, one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who was present at Badr, adopted Salim (who is called Salim, the mawla of Abu Hudhayfa) as the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, adopted Zayd ibn Haritha. He thought of him as his son, and Abu Hudhayfa married him to his brother’s sister, Fatima bint al-Walid ibn Utba ibn Rabia, who was at that time among the first emigrants. She was one of the best unmarried women of the Quraysh. When Allah the Exalted sent down in His Book what He sent down about Zayd ibn Haritha, ‘Call them after their true fathers. That is more equitable in the sight of Allah. If you do not know who their fathers were then they are your brothers in the deen and your mawali,’ (Sura 33 ayat 5) people in this position were traced back to their fathers. When the father was not known, they were traced to their mawla. "Sahla bint Suhayl who was the wife of Abu Hudhayfa, and one of the tribe of Amr ibn Luayy, came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, ‘Messenger of Allah! We think of Salim as a son and he comes in to see me while I am uncovered. We only have one room, so what do you think about the situation?’ The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘Give him five drinks of your milk and he will be mahram by it.’ She then saw him as a foster son. A’isha Umm al-muminin took that as a precedent for whatever men she wanted to be able to come to see her. She ordered her sister, Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr as-Siddiq and the daughters of her brother to give milk to whichever men she wanted to be able to come in to see her. The rest of the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, refused to let anyone come in to them by such nursing. They said, ‘No! By Allah! We think that what the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered Sahla bint Suhayl to do was only an indulgence concerning the nursing of Salim alone. No! By Allah! No one will come in upon us by such nursing!’ “This is what the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, thought about the suckling of an older person.” (Book #30, Hadith #30.2.12)
Adult suckling was in the news not so long ago when a scholar from Al Azhar announced his brilliant fatwa to enable muslim women to work with men (I’m assuming here only muslim men of course).Book 008, Number 3426:
Ibn Abu Mulaika reported that al-Qasim b. Muhammad b. Abu Bakr had narrated to him that 'A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail b. 'Amr came to Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, Salim (the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa) is living with us in our house, and he has attained (puberty) as men attain it and has acquired knowledge (of the sex problems) as men acquire, whereupon he said: Suckle him so that he may become unlawful (in regard to marriage) for you He (Ibn Abu Mulaika) said: I refrained from (narrating this hadith) for a year or so on account of fear. I then met al-Qasim and said to him: You narrated to me a hadith which I did not narrate (to anyone) afterwards. He said: What is that? I informed him, whereupon he said: Narrate it on my authority that 'A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) had narrated that to me.
Chrisse asked if you are “willfully blind” because there is a lot of it going around, especially, it seems, when it comes to Islam; and your question had an inkling of it. Below is an example from Great Britain, and the author notes that it is soon to come to America [as though it already hasn’t].If you could provide a rational response as to how they are relevant to our discussion I would be happy to give you my elementary understanding of the events.
Stupid vitriol is not “taking the blinders off”. In the West there has been a great deal of idealizing Islam as some more pure and pristine religion, a pluralistic utopia, a nearly pacifistic religion “like the Quakers, without all the aggression”. Obviously this is incorrect The causes of this are complex. At the same time there has also been a great deal of the non-sense we see on this board. A personal hatred of Muhammad often rooted in both stupidity and ignorance. I am not speaking of a reasoned moral critique of his policies but a personal hatred of the man I simply cannot understand. There has been a great deal of paranoia, intolerance, vulgarity, and willful ignorance. We see this here in the many anti Islam posts which contain (at best) confused logic and assertions of assailable factual validity.Chrisse asked if you are “willfully blind” because there is a lot of it going around, especially, it seems, when it comes to Islam; and your question had an inkling of it. I disagree because how to think, especially logically, and avoiding fallacies are not taught in public schools. You seem particularly harsh on non-Muslims here for illogical thinking. What do you think about the way Muslims reason?…We see this here in the many anti Islam posts which contain (at best) confused logic and assertions of assailable factual validity.
A perfect example of this would be the Hezbollah thread I posted on when I first returned. You had an individual making a logical error that any reasonably bright fifth grader would be able to point out, …
Then why are you here? The only explanation I have been able to arrive at is that some individuals need the fantasy of being some pseudo freedom fighting anti jihad internet warrior to give their otherwise sad lives meaning. …
I am harsh on it when it is fueled by an attitude of bigotry and intolerance. Simple logical errors in apologetics do not annoy me. Which is what I usually see in the Muslim posters. That is no reflection on Muslims and Christians as a whole, simply what happens to generally be the case on this board.I disagree because how to think, especially logically, and avoiding fallacies are not taught in public schools. As I have said before I do not believe most individuals here have those attributes. It seems to be a small, angry subset. Then why are you here?
First of all, you should know that celebrating the Prophet’s birthday is neither a Sunnah nor an obligation. However, people have got used to expressing their love for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a moderate way on his birthday.
Things to Do
1. Increase your dhikr and salutations for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on that day.
2. Gather Muslim ladies and educate them about the best manners of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), how he was a role model for the whole mankind, how he treated women, etc.
3. Study the seerah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with your family and choose certain incidents that relate to the present time.
4. Increase reading Qur’an and du`aa’ on that day.
While doing all these activities, you should never think they are Sunnah, but always entertain the feeling that you are remembering the greatest legacy the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left behind and you are showing your love for him.
Things to Avoid
1. Any kind of innovation or exaggerating in expressing the love of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
2. Any song that would describe the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with some shirk concepts.
3. Any violations to his Sunnah or teachings.
anything that goes against holy Quran is not accepted to Muslim as truth. God says in holy Quran to breastfeed kids up to 2 years . It’s allowed ( if necessary ) for 6 more months.…

Saudi Arabia woman driver arrest
A woman has been arrested in Mecca in Saudi Arabia for driving a car.
Police gave chase after she was spotted at the wheel of a 4x4 car, the English daily Arab News reported. She was arrested after hitting another car.
Women are prohibited from driving on all public roads in Saudi Arabia, a ban that has triggered several high-profile protests by women’s rights activists.
The woman’s name and nationality have not been announced. Only Muslims are permitted in the holy city of Mecca.
Police arrested the woman, in her 20s, early on Wednesday morning after the car she was driving crashed into another, said Maj Abdul Muhsin al-Mayman, spokesman for Mecca police.
He did not identify the name or nationality of the woman but said she was caught driving a Lexus.
“The woman tried to escape when she saw a police car and in the process hit another car, which was slightly damaged,” he said.
The spokesman said the woman driver was handed over to the Prosecution and Investigation Commission for investigation.
So , what’s your point ???A 74 year old woman has been sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and 40 lashes because of illegal seclusion with 2 Saudi men.
**neploho, quite True. I feel these catholics have no sense. They do not look into their own backyard and they start the worst filth against the prophet and Islam. While at the same time they would like Jesus to be counted as a prophet.I am harsh on it when it is fueled by an attitude of bigotry and intolerance. Simple logical errors in apologetics do not annoy me. Which is what I usually see in the Muslim posters. That is no reflection on Muslims and Christians as a whole, simply what happens to generally be the case on this board.

That you don’t get it.So , what’s your point ???

Really…?
They do not look into their own backyard and they start the worst filth against the prophet and Islam.
Umar very famously declined to pray one of the five daily prayers in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, lest in years to come Muslims might try to turn it into a mosque in his memory. Instead, Umar cleansed the so-called Temple Mount with rose water and built a small mosque there, where the Dome of the Rock now stands.I don’t think they are “errors”. I think they are coached responses. One of the tactics used to great effectiveness is shifting the argument, as planten, for example, has done many times. Ask a question in a thread about Islam or Mohammed, and he quickly asks a question about Jesus or the Bible. You yourself have done this. I asked about the length of lines to get in and out of Islamic countries, and you responded by asking about the lines to and from “Catholic” dictatorships in South America. Is this not a red herring or shifting the argument? The length of the lines to and from SA countries is irrelevant to the ones to and from Islamic ones. No one likes hypocrisy, but it is only an apparent fallacy ajronline.org/cgi/content/full/187/5/W469.… Simple logical errors in apologetics do not annoy me. Which is what I usually see in the Muslim posters.
Have you considered that the anger might be justified? I don’t know how much traveling you do, but nowadays before boarding a flight, you have to submit to what is close to a humiliating strip-search of your body cavities. Muslims the world over must be laughing particularly hard because this is self-induced dhimmitude by “infidels”.As I have said before I do not believe most individuals here have those attributes. It seems to be a small, angry subset.
