San Francisco’s persecution of the Catholic Church continues:
(01-13) 20:49 PST – San Francisco will try to collect up to $15 million in taxes from the Archdiocese of San Francisco, which is refusing to pay certain taxes on properties the church is transferring from one Catholic nonprofit organization to another.
That tax bill would be the second largest of its kind in San Francisco history. But the archdiocese has appealed the charge, saying the church should be exempt from property transfer taxes for a variety of reasons - primarily because the properties are being moved among groups that all are a part of the same overarching organization: the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

I sure hope that they sold the properties to one another for $1 because then the taxes would be nil.

Another liberal, California Democratic shakedown! The whole state is broke and looking for money wherever it can grab it.

It seems like San Francisco and Mr. Ting are shaking down the Church not only because of its financial deficit, but also because of their defeat on Prop. 8.
San Francisco had been holding up this transaction for longer than necessary and it seems more like a reprisal than anything. You are free to disagree with me, but it seems like they are trying to kill two birds with one stone.
