just the host for me. I worry about catching a cold or some other contagion if I drink from the chalice.
How can you say this? Do you really think that “germs” could infect The Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ? If you believe that Jesus can cast out satan, cold gems is child’s play. Plus if you worry about getting germs by sharing, there are countless other ways that gemrs spread, so unless you wash every door handle or disinfect every toilet seat…GERMS.just the host for me. I worry about catching a cold or some other contagion if I drink from the chalice.
There are too many misconceptions about the church floating around already, the last thing we need is another…especially one concerning the source and summit of our faith. It’s better to clear up the matter before someone outside the church stumbles across a thread and gets the wrong impression. And to everyone else, we all know what was meant by the original wording of this question. It didn’t have to be corrected so many times. A little pompously, too, a few time.
I would have to agree here. There are too many misconceptions about the church floating around already, the last thing we need is another…especially one concerning the source and summit of our faith. It’s better to clear up the matter before someone outside the church stumbles across a thread and gets the wrong impression.
God Bless…
Sorry, I did not know what you meant. If you mean do you recieve both the consecrated bread and / or consecrated wine. Say that. You guys know what I mean–do you drink of the wine and eat the bread?
I’m a little short on time but for the meantime you might want to read the following:This is slightly of the subject, but I really would like to know -I love Jesus with all my heart, and mind, I love the mass, the catholic religion. This being so it is very distressing to me that after receiving communion, though I truely believe it is the body and blood of my Lord, I do not feel different. I long to be closer to him through the communion,![]()
and I wonder why I don’t. is it because I am really not worthy? I try my best to live a holy life, follow the faith closely. I would really like to know what your experiences are, and if anyone of you can help me. really I would not speak of this anywhere but in a forum like this .
Nope, you are not mistaken. Until you receive the Sacraments of Baptism and First Communion, one is not supposed to. (Please correct me if I am wrong, But I belive I remember that Baptism is a requirement for the other Sacraments.) Thanks andGod Bless.Neither- Not confirmed or babtized…yet…so I can’t take the body and blood of christ, unless I am mistaken
