Atheism, and ignoring Jesus

Isn’t funny, those that don’t have faith see our faith as chains, but those of us that have faith see it as freedom. 🤷
I know - it’s a mystery how and why God reveals Himself. I’m just thankful that I got “it”.

That’s gotta be the 40th time someone on here has told the story of Jesus, like I needed to hear it again.

So please explain to me, what is with all the insane catholics who are so hung up about everyone going to hell than?

Basically what you’re saying, is that no one goes to hell. If you kill 100 babies and rape a puppy you will still go to heaven? so what is the point of there being a hell? if hell exists in a literal sense like Catholics believe than who goes there?

I love how Catholics will make God seem loving and great when it comes to stuff like this, and ignore so many other things he apparently did. This is the same god that committed mass murder in three cities.

The reason it’s so hard to debate religion with Catholics and Christians, is because none of them even completely agree on their own beliefs. Some depict god as loving and cherry pick to make him seem good. Some depict him as vengeful and focus on why we should fear him.

So I am not wrong just because what I am saying doesn’t necessarily fit into your general view of God.
Ok, let me start at the beginning of your post here…

I don’t know all the conversations you’ve had with all the other people on this forum, so if you’ve heard the story of Jesus, you sure didn’t appear to know it based on what you said about God. This may be why catholics continue to tell you that story over and over. So, in the future, if you don’t want to hear the story of Jesus, you may want to go to another website, or you may want to include some semblance of knowing that Jesus came so that sins may be forgiven.

I don’t know who or how many people go to hell, but I will tell you that the souls that go to hell would be the ones that do not want to be with God. It’s that simple. Heaven=being with God for eternity. Hell=not being with God.

Next, you think of God in human terms. As if your tiny brain can conceive of his divine plan and why He does anything. Trying to understand God is likened to trying to put the Pacific Ocean into a gallon bucket. Good luck with that. Your bucket simply cannot hold all that power.

Finally, You behave as though you want information and you lie in wait to pounce, which wouldn’t be so bad if you were a police officer trying to gather criminals, but you’re going after the faithful here - so I have to wonder, why are you so hurt. Are you the guy who’s father died of cancer? If so, let me tell you I’ve had my loss too. It’s kinda how things work around here. You have two options when you have a loss…you can burn with anger for the rest of your life, or you can find some way to thank God for the time you did have with that person and the people that you still have today.

It appears you are the one hung up on Hell. Most Catholics I know are hung up on getting to heaven. I guess it depends on the destination you want to finally find yourself:shrug:

Basically what you’re saying, is that no one goes to hell. If you kill 100 babies and rape a puppy you will still go to heaven? so what is the point of there being a hell? if hell exists in a literal sense like Catholics believe than who goes there?

I think what you want to hear that there is no Hell? But you don’t want to hear about how to avoid it. Is that because you want to be the one who decides who goes there?

I love how Catholics will make God seem loving and great when it comes to stuff like this, and ignore so many other things he apparently did. This is the same god that committed mass murder in three cities.

God is love, but he is also just and merciful.

The reason it’s so hard to debate religion with Catholics and Christians, is because none of them even completely agree on their own beliefs. Some depict god as loving and cherry pick to make him seem good. Some depict him as vengeful and focus on why we should fear him.

So we are not perfect, are you a graduate of PU? (Pharisee University)

So I am not wrong just because what I am saying doesn’t necessarily fit into your general view of God.

Great logic:rotfl:
You don’t really want to debate. Maybe you need to go home and come back when your mother signs your permission slip.

Seriously, what did you father do to you to make you so angry with God? Was he a tyrant? strict? abusive? or are you just made because he is gone without having a closer relationship?
Who hurt you to make you so angry? that you want to make Christians pay by bursting our bubble? Faith is not like that…

Don’t you dare talk about my father.
A piece of **** like you isn’t fit to lick his shoes.

I’m glad you love your father, that is good. At least you believe in one the 10 commandments. That is start…

I appologize for provoking you to anger, please forgive me.

I would have to disagree with you and suggest instead of making prejudgements, possibly do some serious biblical study. I sense anger toward those who believe in your post, and that is OK, for I cannot expect one without faith to understand why we that do believe do so, in light of the fact that so many of us, that believe, seem to live our faith as if it is magic or, in a superstition manner.

But I feel that if you are one that is really and honestly seeking the truth the answers will come. May you have a blessed day:)
What prejudgements? Do you not consider talking snakes, talking donkeys, people coming back to life as magic?

I think you’re talking about Shrek Les - that’s a cartoon, though it may look real to you - it’s not real.

Les & Gump,

You are the two laziest, ill informed atheists I’ve ever run across.
LOL. Please show in this thread where this is true.
The atheists I know (in person) at least try to answer something when they are backed into a corner.
P.S. Trolling would be somebody who comes in to cause trouble=you. I’m here to learn my faith.
Veronica, you are pathetic, stop posting, you are embarrassing yourself.

les

so since you are a very scientific man can you give me concrete prove without a reason of doubt that God does not exist. Thank you.
So, since I am positive you are a very Religious man can you give me concrete proof without reason of doubt that Leprechauns do exist. Thank you.

What can be submitted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. The burden of proof lies with you, not me.

Don’t you dare talk about my father.
A piece of **** like you isn’t fit to lick his shoes.
“Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” ~St. Matthew
You can go pray for forgiveness now.

All of them. Most atheist at least appear educated in their views.

I know you wish I’d stop posting. Amazing how you’ve got nothing to say except to insult me or ask me to stop posting - right after I answer all your questions and make you look…eh hem…I won’t say it.

God can’t even look upon sinQUOTE]

Veronica, read your bible please. God created the evil of sin.

Isaiah
45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Les,

God created everything.

I’m unable to edit my message to Hobble, but I’d just like to express how wrong I was in that message. Hobble, consider this a lesson learned for me. I sent you a pm.

Thanks for the pm Veronica. I was pretty angry earlier and was being harsh, so I’d like to apologize to you as well. I’ll try not to be so quick to judge and biased in the future.

You do realize I’m not religious right?
You don’t have to be religious to forgive somone, it is your choice to offer it or not. I just wanted you to know I was wrong to provoke anger from you and yes provoking you to anger was what I was trying to do. So once again I ask you, not Gump to forgive me…

Don’t worry, I forgive you, I’m over it. It’s okay, but things are still touchy for me since he just passed this year.

I’m sorry for insulting you in the heat of the moment.

I was just letting Gump know I’m not religious because his post seemed to be directed at me as a way of calling me a hypocrite because I think he thought I was a Catholic.

I do find things like forgiveness to be important. Holding grudges and bad feelings in will never do one good, so it’s important to get past those bad thoughts so we can focus on the good in our lives.

I do understand about being touchy about your father. when my father died it hurt me very much. I was only 12 at the time, he committed suicide and I became very angry and touchy about it for decades. It takes time for mourning and I was totally wrong for using it against you in this dabate. Don’t feel bad for insulting me for I accept your appology and I thank you for your forgivness.
