Please let’s calm down a little. I believe God indwelled us with a set of morals which designs us to raise our children. Now if one rejects God is one free to abandon these children? If not from where does the obligation (or moral) derive?

Please lets stick to the issue
I agree completely with TR. Personal attacks get us nowhere.

It seems you said YOU decide your morals and indirectly imply each of us decides our own morals.
Actually, I suppose I do. As I said to another of your postings, TR, I believe that morals are both a taught and learned system of judgments AND a changeable one.

Who are the taught BY? Your parents, educators, hell, even the church! You soak up all of these teachings like a sponge.

They are changeable because your “moral leanings” may change over time, and the morals you picked up from Dad, may not be the morals you wish to follow.

No, black people are not “sub-human” as your father believed (which he learned from HIS father.) YOU may come to NOT believe that, thus YOU have changed, or adapted your morals to fit who YOU are. (Evolution)
We maintain God decided all morals. Which is to say you may have undermined all your cohorts. They usually deny being their personal moral compass, this is due to the implications of such.
No god. No assigned morals. Did god assign these morals to his priests?

to help you leave the moral subject?

Proof I have your dog exists = none
Proof I have your dog does not exist = none

evaluation is none vs none So any opinion I have on the existence of a dog which is yours is based on my faith in the printed words of this website.

Can we explore your morals now?
Proof I have my dog exists = Yes.
Proof I have my dog doesn’t exist = No.

It’s a matter of how you wish to view it.

And yes, please. 😃

That is not the issue. The issue is to distract from his or any atheist moral base.

BTW the Church did not kill, misguided members of the Church may have killed
Ah, the whole “if I believe it never happened, it never happened” ploy, eh. 😃

I suppose you have just called Pope Innocent III “misguided.”

Ask your Father if you don’t believe me.

So you have faith that they’ll find it, someday
If it’s possible to be found, then yes it will be found. If you are asking me wether or not I have a kind of “faith” in some areas of life? Absolutely.
Sorry to hear that
lol… well there are definately times when I do feel sad that I don’t believe in something but there is pretty much nothing I can do about that, so I’ve deal with it.
So the fact you believe something is right isn’t because its right (per se) but because you’re compelled to by chemicals?
Well, I preface this by saying those “chemicals” are not exactly simple or easy to understand. I don’t KNOW something until it’s proven, but It is one possibility yes.
Of course it matters. IF I believe something is right, and you wrong, but it’s neither right nor wrong per se but simply relatively right or wrong - depending on which chemicals are affecting us then you have no real ‘right to’ tell me I’m wrong, and vise versa.
Like I said, those “chemicals” you are talking about are quite complicated. The Human “brain” is extrodinarily complicated and we are at our infancy in understanding IT and our bodies in general.

What you seem to be saying to me, is that right or wrong is simply a matter of belief due to chemical reactions, and that everyone’s chemicals are different.

They aren’t. We are all the same species, meaning that if there is a biological component to our morality , then all of us will have that component. However interestingly enough, when people’s “chemicals” are out of whack, their morality often is as well. What comes first however? The lack of morality creating the variance in chemical reactions, or do the chemical reactions cause a problem with morality.

Bottom line is, we simply don’t know. I’m comfortable with the unknown. I don’t need all the answers. I just require proof and or experience of something to believe it is real. I now have one foot in the door of agnosticism and would not longer call myself an athiest(or an angry athiest). I’m a bit 50/50 but I know exactly how athiests feel(even the angry ones) and I know that they make small but good moral choices everyday despite no belief in God.

Cheers

Don’t you mean blasphemy?

Don’t you mean, “we can’t refute him, so kick him out?”

Is this Catholicism at it’s finest? 👍
Lol your a crack up, im just giving you a gentle hint and yet you turn it around to your twisted way of thinking.
Your sarcasm is just a display of your weakness.
For everything you have come up with, it has been refuted, but as usual, you wont listen and just mouth off instead.
Do you know how to debate without resorting to such behaviour? I bet you dont!
Now run along, ive got better things to do than debate with someone who wont debate logically and only uses sarcasm to try and wear people down
Oh, if you do a search, you will find this tactic has been used here many times before, it wont get you anywhere.

How would you know? It could just be chemicals switching in your brain to give you that illusion
Like I said, those “chemicals” you are talking about are quite complicated. The Human “brain” is extrodinarily complicated and we are at our infancy in understanding IT and our bodies in general.
Regardless, ultimately it boils down to mechanical processes -for the atheist, that’s all there is
What you seem to be saying to me, is that right or wrong is simply a matter of belief due to chemical reactions, and that everyone’s chemicals are different.
No. That’s what atheists appear to be saying to me - because there’s no *right *or *wrong *beyond their own self, or sense of self
They aren’t. We are all the same species, meaning that if there is a biological component to our morality , then all of us will have that component.
Prove this.
However interestingly enough, when people’s “chemicals” are out of whack, their morality often is as well.
How would you know that they’re out of whack (morally)?
What comes first however? The lack of morality creating the variance in chemical reactions, or do the chemical reactions cause a problem with morality.
Tell me how do you know what they’re doing is moral, first.
Bottom line is, we simply don’t know. I’m comfortable with the unknown.
You accept God then?
I don’t need all the answers.
You accept God then?
I just require proof and or experience of something to believe it is real.
That’s the point you keep missing. You don’t *know *it’s real for it still doesn’t overcome this objection…
As British biologist J. B. S. Haldane wrote in 1927, “If my mental processes are determined wholly by the motions of atoms in my brain, I have no reason to suppose my beliefs are true . . . and hence I have no reason for supposing my brain to be composed of atoms.”

For some, the only way to debate is to win, and the only way to win is to attack everything.

when they realise they arent ‘winning’ thats when the attacks begin, and this is a prime case with WildEyedAtheist, but this persons tactic is to attack from the word go, so they must know deep down how wrong they really are 😉

Possibly because you spent about 10 posts denying you’d been asked questions!😃
Ive got a feeling this is another atheist with more time on his hands than he knows what to do with.
He’s run out of answers, so the sarcasm kicked in…

Must be *memes *or something.

I asked this young atheist solicitor at work if she would now advocate that gaols be made over into medical fascilities because a gaol is there to punish people - which would be unfair if we’re only acting on chemcials (excepting when someone is acting against their own subjective sense of right/wrong).

Those who punish others are imposing their sense of right/wrong on others.

The only reason they can do this - force. They’ve got the power to do so.

I asked a very easy one - for him to more fully source a quote he made on the issue of slavery.

That should take only a few seconds.

LOL.

NOTHING has been refuted.

Drop by this place if you are so ensconced with your debating skills. They will eat you alive.

So your argument that someone can’t argue is to avoid argument yourself and direct them somewhere else.

That’s a rip-snorter! 😃

I’m still waiting for you to answer several of my questions. And, to respond to my super quotes (yes you did respond to this by saying they were irrelevant - that’s the sum total of your response, a ‘just-so’ pronouncemnt to avoid debate - making your own advice above even more ironic)

We can talk about Locke’s concepts of morality not being imposed on others.

Or how my quote directly refutes your sense of truth about your own ideas on morality.

Okay. Here is your chance.

Ask a question, one at a time, and I will answer, one at a time (just like TR).

Be specific. Pick any topic.

Go.
