Attacked while praying why?

I apologise if I have put this question in the wrong thread. My Dad is currently in hospital his kidney is failing and he is on temporary dialysis to help his kidney get stronger. I have been praying fervently for him and his kidney, I started praying the Divine Mercy Novena a few days ago saying the whole 9 days each day, today I was attacked while praying it with words, curses, mocking etc. I had to stop to say St Michael the Archangel prayer and continue then. Anyone else attacked like that while praying?
 
sometimes, our THINKING gets in the way of RIGHT
praying, b/c of sins, trespasses and trauma remembered
that’s why sometimes we react by rejecting the very
prayers we are attempting to say. I have cursed and
said very bad things while “in the Spirit”, I was just
spewing out the hidden resentments and frustrations
which I had.

I should have worded it better sorry, attacked when Praying. Satan.

I have been very worried and I have OCD/anxiety Also which doesn’t help. It upset me because I wanted to pray the best I could.
 
It might not be an attack from Satan so much as your OCD and anxiety acting up. If you were making the effort to pray, your prayer is good. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be acceptable to God. Pray as best you can.

Former Hindu here. Back when I adhered to a literal interpretation of my religion (and somehow managed to get by), interfering with another’s prayer, even if you happened to be from within the same faith tradition, can get you labelled as someone with demonic personality traits.

My current belief is that those who do claim to be believers are expected to accept both the faithful and the interlopers as friends and equals. Perhaps they are so frustrated by their own issues that they cannot empathize with others.
 
Pray the best you can. God knows your intentions and what’s in your true heart. You are praying for the best outcome for your dad and his kidney. If distractions enter, acknowledge them as distractions, and continue praying as best you can. God knows what’s happening. You are praying out of love, and for the well-being of another. God doesn’t demand perfection in this realm.

Distractions duing prayer, be they about what to eat for lunch or vile words, are just distractions. Don’t give them power, if it is “I need to buy ketchup and eggs” simply write those down on a note and go back to praying, if it is ugly words in your mind dismiss them and go back to prayer.
 
This is a good example of why we should ask the Church Triumphant for their assistance. Our Saintly brothers & sisters have already defeated satan & they pray non-ceasingly.
 
Flee to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and stay calm. Try not to worry, God has got you there is nothing to worry about. Getting distressed is never going to help you feel better. Your prayers are good even if you just say Jesus name, if you have a good imagination then try picture any image of him to calm yourself down. Stress and panic is the next worst thing from sin. If your imagination is rubbish or too stressed out then look at the nearest image of Jesus, Mary of the Holy family and that will help calm you. When you feel calmer you can carry on with your prayer. The Divine Mercy chaplet is a lovely prayer and so is the St Michael prayer that was a wise choice, it is calming. Your angel is with you too and will also come to your aid. Keep praying. Read the Psalms too they have helped me, my priest advised me once to read them.

I am sorry to hear about your Dad, I will pray for him and you.

A priest once said to me in Confession, that if you are distracted while praying as in hear cursing, terrible thoughts come in your head etc that it is satan trying his very best to distract you.
