You said you had a misalette, it makes me think you might’ve had the ubiquitous red missalettes from Ecclesia Dei Coalition,

Those only contain the propers, as an example, for Trinity Sunday, so the readings won’t match for the majority of the year.
 
Good point about the red missalette, Psalitte. That would be my guess too. OP, if you go again, look for a bulletin or separate sheet of paper that has the Propers for that day’s Mass. It will include the Scripture readings. That is what we do at my location. We have our chaplaincy bulletin, and a separate sheet of paper with the Propers.
