I probably would have voted for Kirk if it wasn’t for all of those Priceline commercials Jim Shatner has done.
Most of Jim’s friends call him Bill. It’s a common nickname for William, his given name.

I always like seeing a fellow wise-arse.

I like Picard, but why have they not found a cure for baldness by then?

As for Janeway, she was tough, fair, etc… I just assume that people would also have quit smoking by then (3-400 years in the future).
First, they did cure it. Picard chose not to get it corrected because he liked it like that.

Second, please elaborate on the smoking part. I don’t remember the reference.

BUT FORGET Marina!! She’s a dumb bimbo!! A stupid woman, and truly no Catholic @ all.

Isn’t she of Greek descent and a member of the Greek Orthodox Church?
She is Greek and speaks with an English accent. I don’t know about her religious affiliation.

I know you didn’t make the quote, but I’m going to reply here anyway. Dumb bimbo and stupid woman are redundant. And I also think unfair. No Catholic at all. Well, are any cast members of any of the shows Catholic? I know that Shatner and Nimoy are Jewish (at least by birth).

Kirk of course

People sometimes mistakenly think ST was about boldly going - but of course we all know what it was really about - it was really about Spock constantly driving Bones to distraction - and with the ever suffering Kirk in the middle

bless…

It’s life Jim - but not as we know it
I would also say it’s about selling sex appeal, dealing with controversial issues alegorically, and showing what liberalism would be like if it worked perfectly.

Is it just me or was Captain Kathryn Janeway a clone of her namesake Hepburn?
That’s pretty good. I had never thought about that before. Did you know that a relationship she had with a director (or producer) broke up his marriage - ala Spencer Tracy.

I always liked Sisco, but that might be colored by the fact that I found the plot lines on DS9 the most intelligent. I also enjoyed the original show immensely though and found it to be far ahead of its time. I probably would have voted for Kirk if it wasn’t for all of those Priceline commercials Jim Shatner has done. :bigyikes:

John
You mean William Kirk don’t you?

Have you ever heard of the sin of detraction?

Ooops, brain skip!!! :o

Managed to cross Jim Kirk and William Shatner…sometimes my fingers move sooooo much quicker than my brain. Thanks for catching it and letting me acknowledge my gaffe. Hopefully the next 100 posters will see my humble correction along with the mistake. 🙂

Sure. But why worry about wind resistance in space? 😃
Second, please elaborate on the smoking part. I don’t remember the reference.
There is no reference other than her voice. Kate Mulgrew’s voice sounds like a two-pack-a-dayer if I’ve ever heard one.

Pardon my ignorance, I know you’re joking, but I don’t get it. When or what were they doing about wind resistance?

Taking steriods will also do that to women. It does clearly sound like her voice has been changed. Maybe she was naturally like that. Does anyone know if she was a smoker or not?

I’m pretty sure I read that she was, at least back when they were shooting.

There’s no air in space, ergo, there’s no need to worry about a big mop of hair to slow you down. 👍

I voted for Kirk, hands down. But out of all of them, I really find myself enjoying Avery Brooks acting as Sisko the best. I used to abhor DS9. But as I watched it I really think that the DS9 cast really worked well together. I see various reruns and the performance of the DS9 actors really stick with me more then the others.
