Fauci’s statement about how contagious this is yesterday, was startling.
I have no confidence in the things you list( no offense intended). To me it is easily a false hope list.
Hope I am wrong

I think a vaccine will be different than you think.
Right now antibodies built up after a recovery appear limited according to the woman directing the vaccine research. A vaccine she said, would be much more powerful and capable of prevention of a relapse or God forbid, reinfection.

The encouraging thing is every day we put behind us they get closer to a proven treatment for the virus. To me that is when a real return to work is possible

Maximus1 . . .
Fauci’s statement about how contagious this is yesterday, was startling.
This is utterly contagious.

That is precisely part of WHY I said we need to get out.
(Because staying “in” isn’t going to save you from getting it. Unless you are planning on living the hermit life. Which may be fine . . . For YOU.)

The whole purpose of this “holing up” the country allegedly was NOT to avoid getting Corona Virus.

We were told we were going to get it anyway due to the degree contagiousness of this.

It will be JUST as contagious next year.
And five years from now.
And ten years from now.

How long do you want to “hole up”?

The whole pupose of these measure were ALLEGEDLY to “flatten the curve” (remember that?) And all of that.

And to NOT OVERWHELM our health care system.

Well “the curve” has been flattened.

And our health care system was NOT over run.
In almost everywhere it was FAR from it.

Remember Andrew Cuomo telling America how bad he needed all those ventilators? Before he didn’t?

The hysterics are not helping anything.

Fauci obviously has not been following the right numbers as he was WRONG on these things.

Let’s just be honest about that. The hype was wrong.

Remember. Mitigation measures such as social distancing was built-in to the chicken-little models.

The models were WRONG.

Fauci needs to go (my opinion).

He has been discredited.

The people who had the wrong “scientific models”
must not remain at the proverbial table.

Thank you Bishop Baldacchino!

Amid coronavirus, New Mexico diocese to let some attend Mass

Associated Press

A Roman Catholic diocese in New Mexico announced Wednesday it will reopen churches and allow a small number of people to attend public celebrations of Mass in what could be the first move to alter a diocese-declared ban on public services in the U.S.

Priests were encouraged to hold public Mass at Las Cruces Diocese parishes while having parishioners abide by social distancing restrictions ordered by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, diocese spokesman Christopher Velasquez said.

That means churches can only hold Mass with five or less people in attendance and they must stay 6 feet apart, Velasquez said.

“If you show up to your parish without calling first, you might be turned away,” Velasquez said.

The diocese also announced it would allow priests to hold outdoor Mass services while people stay in their cars. . .

. . . Las Cruces Bishop Peter Baldacchino made the decision . . .

“We are hearing reports about divorces, drug abuse and now people losing their jobs,” Velasquez said. “The church is here to offer hope.”

The Catholic News Agency reports Baldacchino is the first in the nation to modify a declared diocesan ban on public Masses. . . .

The bishop also made provision for priests to resume weddings and funerals as along as state regulations on social distancing are followed. . . .

The measures are obviously temporary…
Obviously such obviously “temporary” measures create dangerous precedent which can in the future be more easily cited for reasons much less obvious than the ones cited now. This is a fairly obvious historical consideration, one worthy of obviously justified concern.

That’s right! Terrible precedent. (I am glad someone like Hillary or Obama was not in office here. They would have had a leftist-socialist-utopia field-day that may have destroyed the country.)

The other thing is “how temporary”?

A month?
A year?
Eight years?

California county bans singing in online worship services

’Singing or playing wind instruments — even a harmonica — during a livestream video event can get citizens fined or thrown in prison.'

Fri Apr 17, 2020 - 1:52 pm EST

By Doug Mainwaring LifeSiteNews

MENDOCINO COUNTY, California, April 17, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – On Good Friday, a county in the Golden State issued an order to churches banning singing ostensibly to further stem the spread of the coronavirus.

Mendocino County, which hugs California’s Pacific Coast about 100 miles north of San Francisco, published a revision of its former “Shelter in Place Orders” which some observers are saying goes too far.

The directive, which is in force until May 10, limits events, including live-streamed events, to four individuals. It goes on to state:
No singing or use of wind instruments, harmonicas, or other instruments that could spread COVID-19 through projected droplets shall be permitted unless the recording of the event is done at one’s residence, and involving only the members of one’s household or living unit, because of the increased risk of transmission of COVID-19.

‘Particularly chilling’

“The policy in Mendocino County is particularly chilling,” wrote R. Albert Mohler, Jr., president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in an essay at The Federalist. . . . .

. . . “During this crisis, governments must determine what services are essential to society and those that can be suspended in order to slow the spread of the virus. However, we have a major problem when governments indicate that liquor stores and pet stores are essential but religious services are not,” said Mohler. “When governments assert that abortions are essential but singing in a streamed worship service is just too unsafe and nonessential, then we have slipped into a complete upending of the American constitutional order.” . . .

Didn’t he say that the parishes had to still follow local rules about social distancing? In other word a feel good announcement that doesn’t change anything.

So are you practicing civil disobedience since you think the curve has been flattened and the emergency is over? I’m sure there are organizations that would really appreciate you picking up the slack created by their essential employees that haven’t been able to come in to work. Plus you will be able to pick up extra income.

If so, I hope you will at least respect those who do not want to come in close physical proximity to you.

That passage means the following: “Private prayer stands in contrast to the false piety of hypocrites. It was Jesus’ own custom to withdraw from the public pray alone to the Father. Private prayer is a complement to communal prayer, not a rejection of it.” (Ignatius Catholic Study Bible, New Testament)
It also refers to the fact that they were seeking the reward of men for being pious. We pray not to make ourselves look good, but to give God his due.

Sallybutler. . .

Nobody ever said here that we should NOT follow such measures. Nobody.

We all need the Sacrament of Confession. I know I do. Unfortunately, some Governors will arrest you for being in a Church parking lot.

I admire those priests who have the ingenuity to celebrate drive-in Mass and, especially, Confession. And, those priests deserve to be defended.

I am shaking my head and honestly wondering if you believe what you typed.
If you are right, time to watch the Omega man again for pointers.
If you believe 5 years. Ten years. Then I am wrong and you are right.
Go out in a blaze! We aren’t coming back.
There will be no place to go, so staying in perhaps makes no sense as you say.
I am operating under the belief that they will find a vaccine. Or an AIDS type regiment to prolong life, or both.
If I need to risk natural OMEGA MAN IMMUNITY, staying in is nothing more than getting around to my obituary.
Maybe a few prayers first.
I had no idea you opperates like it is dooms day. Now I understand why you think what you do

Perhaps he wants to protect his priests from getting ill or from participating in spreading the disease to their parishioners because other parishioners wouldn’t stay home when they were sick or had been exposed.
