Augustine a heretic acording to Greek Orthodox?

Hi Ralph, As the article referenced suggests “the” Orthodox 😉 do not throw out everything Augustine wrote but take a cautionary and critical approach to his works. But we don’t discount his many valid contributions.

I thought the article was very balanced. It may be the best thing I ever read on the subject. Quite a few Orthodox are quoted in the article and it is obvous he was and is respected for his holiness. He continues to be studied by Orthodox.

Quite naturally Latin Catholics and Protestants have a lot vested in his more complete set of works, and the developments which stem from them, “we” Orthodox understand that. 🙂

I know what you mean. The infallability is so limited, and it does not mean that popes are always holy people. I wish it did, though.
I’ve heard conservative Catholics says that a good pope is a disservice to the Church. (To be honest, I don’t think they really mean it, but just like to say it because it sounds clever.)
