Typical liberal-speak. Teaching on sin is reaffirming “old dichotomies,” while twisting doctrine is “finding new convergences.” It’s rhetorical ploy, not an actual argument… And paired with the usual condescending “lol conservatives think the sky is falling” attitude, to boot!
You know, sometimes the sky really does fall. I don’t see anyone defending the pre-Catholic Reformation practice of selling indulgences as a “new convergence of financial ingenuity.”
