I have made my decision, I cannot accept the Roman Catholic faith.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me to understand what Catholics believe and why, I know I will be more understanding in the future.

I have a lot of sympathy for 90% of your beliefs, and will probably always remain more catholic than anything else, unfortunatly I believe the Roman Catholic church has erred, and I am not prepared to entrust my soul to the care of the mortal man whom you believe can speak infallibly.

I cannot accept sola scriptura either, and will always look at the traditions which the Church has laid down in the past for guidance. It pleases me to know that there are still so many people who truly believe in the miracles of the bible and in the Good News that was was given to us all.

I especially want to thank Hurst who’s work on this website, seems tireless.

I will continue to pray for you all, please pray for me also.

Peace by with you

Gareth -

It is hard to make the decision that you have sought. But if yor only issue is with the Pope, have a look at Orthodoxy. It is 95% of Catholicism, without the Pope. Ask some questions on the Eastern Christianity threads. The Orthodox have valid sacraments, including the Eucharist. With them, you can share in the Body and Blood of Christ, the spiritual food that Jesus promised to nourish our souls. They also have valid apostolic succession, as you have seen on this particular thread.

My prayers go out to you. May your spiritual journey take you to home.
