We’ve been praying ceaselessly for change in our diocese and it seems our prayers have been heard, as our fab Archbishop has clearly started an agressive campaign to being the truth to Catholics in our city. Take a moment to read the horrific and offensive editorial from our newspaper regarding the recent decision to remove the conscience clause for pharmacists who do not want to distribute Plan B. And then read the brave response from our Archbishop Alex Brunett to the readers of this rag.

I, too, love our Archbishop (I’d better, I’m a semianrian…). I think he too often gets a bad rap because of all the insanity in the region. But it isnt his fault.

More specifically (I had to run out to greek last time), I appreciate him often being so direct in confronting things and issues in the state head on, yet reasonable enough in his messages that he doesnt sound like a firebrand zealot. Also, he has the guts to put his name on stuff, which is cool.

I hope his successor is as awesome as he, and given that he is 73 that is an immediate worry.

I agree. I have suggested to other Catholics in our Archdiocese that we begin a letter-writing campaign to B16 suggesting that he refuse the Archbishop’s request for retirement! Is that terrible??😉

Yeah, I think he is getting tired and wants to retire. But we can hope for an awesome sucessor!
