Sorry, but never on my worst day did I consider any of my parenting experiences a burden. It’s a gift. No it’s not always easy but to see it as a burden is not in my thought process.I do not see anything inappropriate about saying that mothers carry burdens. If raising children were 100% a walk in the park, this thread wouldn’t exist. I love and value my son, but that doesn’t mean that being a parent is easy. I’m sure you know first-hand that burdens and crosses are inherent to parenthood.
I agree with you that the thread is about people who don’t parent but when posters are writing that people should just ignore children’s behavior or it is another parent’s problem when a child goes off with their lack of parenting, it’s a red flag. Some parent’s have a real high tolerance for their own child’s behavior. Just as you state no one is debating the problem of parents who ignore, no one is debating the natural exuberance of children and the occasional bad day. Any parent who puts in an effort should be commended.
I’m sorry that your ex-husband beat you up. I’ll say a prayer that things get easier for you.
