SAINT GERARD MAJELLA
FOR A SICK CHILD
O St. Gerard, who, like the Saviour,
loved children so tenderly
and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death,
listen to us who are pleading for our sick child.
We thank God for the great gift of our son/daughter,
and ask Him to restore our child to health
if such be His holy will.
This favour, we beg of you,
through your love for all children and mothers.

Amen.

Saint Gerard,
during your life you extended your help
to the unfortunate and poor around you.
Help me in my present need

(mention you intention here). Healing of back pain.

Give me the insight to recognize
the presence of Jesus in the sufferings and troubles of others.
Let not my urgent need for help
cause me to think only of myself.
Following your example,
uniting my prayers
and sufferings with Jesus on the Cross,
may I be transformed into a person of love and compassion.

God bless each of you for your faithful prayers. I got a mixed message from my appointment. They aren’t going to do surgery at this point. The doctor I saw was a PA, not the specialist. She was very curt and didn’t seem to want to answer all my questions. She differs with the radiologist who first read my MRI. She is suggesting shots (steroid) not surgery. So, although I don’t want surgery and am happy to hear this, I’m still not sure what is going on. My back pain comes and goes so it isn’t constant for which I am very grateful! One day at a time. Thank you for your prayers!!

Lord, we pray for this sufferer and all those who experience the agony and disability that accompanies back problems. We pray, Lord, that she receives wise medical advice and effective treatment quickly & that her pain and consequent disability resolves without need for surgical intervention. We pray, Lord, that she will turn to you in this time of trial and offer her sufferring up for Your perfect intentions.

Thank you all for your prayers! They lift me when I get discouraged. It seems I’ve been on a rollercoaster of ups and downs. One day I’m better and think I’m improving and the next pain. (especially down my leg) It wears you down… When I know people are praying I can bear through and give it all to Him. Thank you!!
